Moved by Councillor Tautfest that an offer of ~45.G'G' per acre be made to the E.I.D. for the SE of 30-19-14_x, This property to be used for airport purposes. Carried. Moved by Councillor Larsen that we accept the financial statement , for the month of August. Carried. .~ Letter from the office of the Prime Minister re our letter on Capital Punishment was read and ordered filed. G Letter from the Minister of Lands & Forests re closing cf antelope season r~ithin the County ryas read and the Secretary was advised to reply to this letter setting out the Council's feelings as to the deer season in this area. Letter from Canad:iaA Transport Commission re Board Order R6~`:57 was read and ordered filed. Letter from Canadian ,Arthritis Society requesting a donation ~•:as read. Moved by Councillor Chrumka that no donation be mace this year. Carried. Letter from M=edicine Hat Regional Planning Commission re preliminary k7udget was read and ordered filed. Letter from Eastern Irrigation District regarding exempt lands surrounding Bantry Resevoir No. 2 was read. Moved by Councillor Ghrumka that we approve their request subject to the Taxation !Act. Carried. Letter from the Department of Highways re Kin brook Is ?.and Park access road regarding texas gates and stop signs was read. Moved by Councillor Chrumka that we approve their request but subject to the texas gates ;ring installed this year. Carried. Letter from De~rtment of High~~ays re speed limit on the Kinbrook Paxk road was read. Moved ice,' Councillor Tautfest that we apply to the Department: of Highways for an increase in speed limit on all County hard surface roads, to be set the same as Goverrt-r.Pnt speeds. Carried.. Letter from Stone & Pritchard xe forclosure on the T.L. Murphy farm was read. Moved by Councillor Chrumka that we approve the forcl.osure procedure as outlined. Carried. Moved by Councillor Hajash that we approve this application subject to all other regulations being met. Carried. Mr, Carl Anderson representing the Kraus Brothers of Duchess met with thQ Council to set out the Kraus Brothers position in the leasing of the road alloi~rance in 20-1.-~-~. Mr. Albert Cyr met with Council to set out his positior: in the leasing of the road allowance in 20-1.~-c. Application 69M55 re b~J. Committee Reports School Committee Moved by Councillor Hall that we refuse the Miss B. Rooke bursary application as it does not meet County policy standards. Carried. Moved by Councillor Hall. that we refuse the Miss K. Donovan bursary application as it does not meet County policy standards. Whereas, Section 6.5.7 of the Public Service Vehicle Act Regu_ lations reads:~'~Every person who sells a school bus or disposes ' of such bus for uses other than that of transporting children to !and from school, shall remove or cause to be removed the signs required by section 6.17.19 and 6.19.15." Whereas, a large number of buses are being purchased and converted for use other than a school bus and Whereas, the requirements of Section 6.5.7 of P.S.Y Act are being carried out, but the vehicle's color is not being changed and Whereas, it is felt that this serves as a problem in identifying school buses, Therefore, be it resolved, that it be recommended that Section 6.5.7 of the P.S.V Act be amended to read: "'Every person who purchases a school bus, that is no longer being used for the transporting of children to and from school shall remove or cause to be removed the signs required by section 6.17.19 and 6.19.15, and also change the color of the bus."'
