County Council
June 9th 1966
The regular monthly meeting of the County Council was held in the County
Off-ice in Brooks, Alta. at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 9th, 1966.

Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that the Secretary's monthly report of
receipts and payments for May 1966 be acceptedR CarriedR
A letter from Bevan,Hutch and Co. requesting an increase in the Audit
Fee for the County was read and discussed.
Moved by Councillor Douglass, that the request of Bevan, Hutch and Co,
to increase the Audit Fee to $1500.00 be approved. Carried.

Advice was received from the Alberta Centennial Committee of Provincial
approval of the projects at Rainier, Rolling Hills, and Scandia.
A letter from Alberta Farm Purchase Board advising of the further refusal
to approve the E.L. Robinson application for loan, was read and discussed
and ordered filed.
Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that the plan of extension by Farm Electric
Services for the Tilley R.E.A. be approved.

to the Tom of Brooks Water Supply at Lake Newell be approved.

approved providing all County road crossings are made at a depth of 8 ft
for a distance of 50 feet each way from the cente of the road allowance.

CPR crossing was read discussed. and ordered filed.

Mr, Terry Turnbull, Ferguson Supply H. Dicl:ieson & 0. Dahl, Coneco Equipment
attended the meeting to present proposals for the rental of earthmoving
machinery. ,,,,,,~,,,,
Moved by Councillor Mandeville that Coneco Equipment Co, be requested to
bring down their machine for a demonstration, and if satisfactory, we
will rent the machine on a monthly basis at $3700.00 per month.
Carried.
Moved by Councillor Hajash, that a Special Meeting of the County Council be
held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday June 27th to open & consider the Tenders fir
Hardsurfacing. Carried.
Moved by Councillor Mandeville that Steve Chikowski be employed as janitor of
the new County Office Building at a salary of $225.00 per n,~onth.

Moved by Councillor Hajash, that the report of the Municipal Committee be
accepted. Carried.
School Committee
Moved by Councillor N~ ndeville, that the report of the :School Committee
be accepted. Carried.

advertise the new addition to the Duchess School for Tender.

Moved by Councillor Mandeville, that the following buildings be advertised
for sale: Rolling Hills, 3 Coal Sheds
Rainier 2 Coal Sheds, 1 Pump :Shed.

Agricultural Committee
Moved by Councillor Larsen, that the report of the Agricultural Committee be
accepted.

Government to Officially open the new County Office Building during the
first week in August.
Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that-`the decision for the acceptance v of
Tenders for the painting of the Gem and Bassano Schools, be left to
Mr. Torgunrud, Mr. Hajash, and the Secretary-Treasurer for consideration
and decision on Monday, June 13th.
