County Council,
~kpril 7th, 1966
The regular monthly meeting- of the County Council was held in the County
Office in Brooks, Alberta at 10:00 a,m. on Thursday, April 7th, 1966

The minutes of the previous meeting of March ~~t, 1966 were read and adopted
Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that the Secretary's report of Receipts and
Payments for the month of March 1966 be accepted.
Carried.
Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that the proposed plans for Calgary Power Ltd.,
for the Harry Bass Pump in the Bantry Field be approved.
Carried.
•-, ~' -, A letter from the Town of Brooks re the rural use of the arena was read
and discussed, and the Secretary directed to reply
Notice was received from the Alberta Assessment Appeal.Board of hearing
t`I the appeal of the County on Tuesday, April 26th, at 1:30 p.m.
A letter fromt he Farmers Union of Alberta, re the Pincher Creek Pollut-
ion Fund was read and discussed.
Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that this County do not make a contribution
to the Pincher Creek Pollution Fund.
Carried.
Moved by Councillor Hajash,~that the application for Subdivision -of
SE 6-19-15-4 be approved subject to Prov. Government Regulations.
Carried.
Adjourned for Lunch,
12:45 to 2:00 pm.
Mr. Minor Murray attended the meeting to discuss the prospects of the
County compensating him for his legal costs in his previous damage case
agains the County.
Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that the request of Mr. Murray to be compen-
sated for his legal fees in regard to his previous damage claim in the sum
of $466.00 be refused.

Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that the report of the Municipal Committee
be accepted. Carried.

Moved by Councillor Mandeville that the report of the School Committee

Agricultural Committee
Moved by Councillor Larsen, that the report of the Agricultural Committee
be accepted.
Carried.
Moved by Councillor Larsen, that the Agricultural Heldman, G. Philpott
be instructed to take the necessary legal steps to obtain payment of the
Damsgaard Account, approximately $175.00 for spraying.
Carried.
The Secretary was directed to request the Department of Agriculture to
retain the Tree Planter at the Brooks Horticultural Station.
Mowed by Councillor Mandeville,.that Mr. Samson be engaged as plumber for
the County at a salary of $400.00 per month
Carried.
Hospital Committee
Moved by Councillor Grosfield, that the report of the Brooks Hospital be
accepted.
Carried.
Moved by Councillor Bergen, that the report of the Bassano Hospital be
accepted, Carried.
Civil Defence Committee
Moved by Councillor Bergen, that the report of the E,M,C, be accepted.
Carried.
Farm Purchase Committee
Moved by Councillor Larsen, that the report of the Farm Purchase Committee
be accepted.

NW 1919-13-4 be approved.

Senior Citizens Committee
Moved by Councillor Crosfield, that the report of the Senior Citizens
Committee be accepted.

Nursing Home Committee
Moved by Councillor Hajash, that the report of the Nursing Home Committee
be accepted.
Carried.
Miss Lovas of Maxwell & Campbellattended the meeting to discuss furniture
and Fixtures for the new office building.
Moved by Councillor Larsen,.that the County join with the E,I,D, in a 5 year
contract attempt to recover arrears of taxes from deliquent tax payers
subject to the approval of the Minister. Carried.
Moved by Councillor l~~andeville,~that the accounts for payment, being cheques
No. 1160 to 1348 as listed be passed for payment, Carried.
Movedby Councillor Musgrove, that the Building and Lot, being Lot 13,
Block 2 Patricia Plan 1217 BA to which the County has title under the
Recovery Act be offered for sale by public tender.
Carried.

Moved by Councillor Hajash, that prices be obtained on a 2 to 3-yard
Rubber tired loader, for presentation at the next Municipal Committee
meeting.

The Secretary was directed to compile the figures for the 1966 Estimates
on a similar psis to the 1965 expenditures, with an effort to hold the.
Mill Rate the same as was in effect in 1965.
