The regular monthly meeting of the Council of the County of Neti~ell No. 4
was held in the County Office in Brooks, AlY~erta at 10:00 a.m. on Friday
January 8th, 1965.

The minutes of the previous meeting of December 11th, 1964 were read
and adopted.
Moved by Councillor Chrumka, thUt the reading of the list of accounts
paid in the minutes be dispensed with, and scrutinized by each councillor
from his own copy of the minutes.
Carried.
Moved by Councillor Eastman, that the reading of the minutes of the
. Statutory Meeting of January 4th be dispensed with, each Councillor
having his oti~m copy to read.
Carried.
The minutes of the Joint Meeting with the Eastern Irrigation District
in the evening of December 8th, 1964 were read and adopted.
Moved by Councillor Armstrong, that the Secretary's reports of Receipts
Payments and Monthly Progress for the month of December be accepted.
Carried.

Moved by Councillor Grosfield, that Bylati•1 #269 to restore title to
the Eastern Irrigation District on the NE 3-20-14-4 be given 1st,
2nd, and 3rd readings and finally passed.
Carried Unanimously
Moved by Councillor Mandeville, that the application of the Bo:r City
Hutterite Brethren to establish a cemetery in the NE 21-17-17-4 be
approved.
Carried.
Mayor Shellenberg, Councillors Fowler and Christensen of the TO~'Sn of Brooks
attended the meeting to discuss the County proposal to purchase
approximately 4.19 acres being Lot 33 Plan 3027 HN Toti~~n of Brooks as
a site for a new County Office Building, with a view to establishing a
price for the land.

Mayor Shellenberg made the statement that the price could be tentatively
set at $6000.00
Moved by Councillor Eastman, that an offer be made to the Town of Brooks
to purchase Lot 33 Plan 3027 H N, 4..19 acres for the sum of $6000.00
Carried.
A letter from the Chief Provincial Assessor re the recently completed
General Assessment to be used in 1965 was re _:d and discussed and ordered
filed.
A letter from Street Robbins & Morrow with regard to Domor Disc prices
was read and ordered filed.
A letter from the Town of Bassano re the new surface irrigation assess-
ment on County property was read discussed and ordered filed.
`I~o letters from Underwood & McLellan re the Duchess Road costs, and
the 1965 program were read, discussed and ordered filed.
A letter from the Town of Brooks outlining an exchange of property
proposal was read and discussed and ordered filed.
A letter from the Department of Municipal Affairs, re the Municipal
Assistance Grant was read discussed and ordered filed.
A letter from the Eastern Irrigation District, re irrigation charges
to Hamlets, was read and discussed and a copy made for each Councillor
concerned for his attention.
A letter from Assoc. Eng. Services Ltd..re their suggested service
proposal was read and discussed and the Secretary was directed to advise
them that we have no further interest in their proposal. -
Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that the application of K.C. BristoT,~ to
subdivide and transfer part W2 26-17-14-4 to J. Onody be approved.
Carried.
Moved by Councillor Hajash, that the application of Earl Edwardson
to subdivide the S4J 7-19-15-4 be approved.
Carried.
Moved by Councillor Armstrong, that Bylaw #270 to donate $25.00 to the
Prairie Provinces Forestry Association be given 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
readings and finally passed.

Moved by Councillor Hajash, that the report of the Municipal Committee
be accepted.
Carried.
Moved by Councillor Grosfield, that an application be made for a
Contingency Grant to Hard Surface a further 5 miles of the Brooks-
Duchess load.
Carried.

Moved by Councillor Douglass, that an application be made for Natural
Resources Grant for a further 3 miles to complete the Gem-Hutton Ferry
Road.
Carried..
Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that an application be made for a Contingency
Grant to continue the rebuilding of the Rolling Hills Road 026 B north
from its intersection with 026K to the Trans-Canada Highway.
Carried.
Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that all of the motions with regard to
sale of County Equipment and property contained in the Municipal Committee
minutes of January 5th, 1965 be concurred in.
Carried.
Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that the tender of Willo~~ Creek Sand and
Gravel to crush and stockpile 3~4" gravel under the 1965 Winter Works
Program for 58~ per cubic yard be accepted.

School_Committee
Moved by Councillor Eastman, that the report of the School Committee
be accepted.
Carried.

Moved by Councillor Mandeville, that the report of the Agricultural
Service Board be accepted.
Carried.
_ Moved by Councillor Mandeville, that the two Cattle Chutes be offered
for sale by Public Tender.

Moved by Councillor Mandeville, that an allowance be paid for the County
share of the Short Course expense at Brooks and Bassano to a maximum
of $50.00 at each location.
Carried.
Moved by Councillor Armstrong, that an effort be made to obtain a parts
man for the shop.

be accepted.

Resolution
Moved by Councillor Armstrong and resolved that in accordance
with Section 55 of the Municipal Districts Act, the following
remunerations be paid to the Chairman, Councillors and Members
of the School Committee, Agricultural Service Board, Farm Purchase
Board, and Court of Revision for the year 1965.
$15.00 per day for each Councillor or member for each meeting
attended.
10¢ per mile for each mile necessarily travelled in coming to
and returning from meetings of the Council or Committee.
$15.00 per day for the Chairman for each day necessarily spent
in the discharge of his duties as Chairman other than attendance
at Council: meetings.
10¢ per mile for each. mile necessarily travelled in discharge
of his duties as Chairman.
$15.00 per day to each Councillor or member for the time nec-
essarily occupied in laying out or inspecting work performed
or to be performed for the County.
10¢ per mile for each mile necessarily travelled in respect
of the laying out or inspection or work performed or to be
performed for the County.
$15.00 per day to each Councillor or member attending Committee
meetings.
10¢ per mile for each mile necessarily travelled in respect of
Committee Meetings.
$15.00 per day to the Reeve for each day served in performing
his duties as Reeve of the County.
10¢ per mile for each mile necessarily travelled in respect
of his duties as Reeve.
