Members present, Reeve Jas. Hajash Councillors Geo. Larsen A . :Chrumka A. Eccles R. Armstrong R. Eastman Don Grosfield G. Douglass Sec.-Treas. H. Scammell The minutes of the previous meeting of October 9th, 1964 and the Courts of Revision October 13 to 20th, 1964, were read and adopted. Moved by Councillor Eastman, that the reading by the Secretary of the minutes of the Courts of Revision October 13th to 20th be disposecl`~ with by the copies of the same in the hands of each councillor. Carried. Moved by 'Councillor Chrumka, that the Secretary's monthly reports of Receipts and Payments for the month of October 1964 be accepted. harried. A letter from the A.A.M.D. re Workmens Compensation, 1964 convention and Resolutions, was read, discussed and ordered filed. Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that the resolution from the Public Service Pension Board re the Transfer of Pension Funds, copy of which is attached to, and forms part of the minutes of this meeting be passed. Carried. A letter from Prairie Farm Assistance re the regulations as to claims etc. was read, discussed and ordered filed. Copy of a letter from Underwood & McLellan to Lewis & Wilson re Hot mix surfacing the Brooks-Duchess Road was read and order filed after being discussed. Copy of a letter from Underwood& McLellan to Lewis & Wilson re analysis of gravel for the Brooks-Duchess Road was read and discussed and ordered filed. A letter from Underwood & McLellan re the Fog-'Coating, of the asphaltic surface of the Brooks-Duchess Road was read and discussed and ordered filed. Moved by !Councillor Douglass, that the application of Canadian Western Natural Gas 'Co. to cross, aertaintCounty Road Allowances in townships 22 and 23 in Range 18=I~I4 with gas lines, be approved providing they conform to the County regulations. harried. A letter from the Minister of the Department of Lands & Forests, Norman ?nTillmore, re the shooting of Antelope in the County was read discussed and ordered filed. A letter Fromm Norwich Union Insurance ~Co. to E. W. Brunsden, re the accident to R. Hobson at the Bassano School, was read and discussed and ordered filed, direction was given to have the old set of wooden swings in the playground removed. .Adjourned.f or Lunch .1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Mr. S. J. Noble, representing Riverdale Properties Ltd. attended the meeting to discuss the developement of a Nursing Home program to serve the County. Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that the County make application for the inclusion of the County of Newell in a Nursing Home District.: Carried. A letter from Sunalta Appraisals Ltd. re a proposal to appraise all 'County properties was read and discussed. Moved by 'Councillor C~urumka that the proposal of Sunalta Appraisals Ltd. be refused. Carried. An offer was received from Mrs. Agnes Knudsen of Millicentto purchase the NE 34-20-13 W4 title to which is held by the County, under the Tax Recovery Act, of $1000.00 cash. Moved by Councillor Hajash, that the offer of $1000.00 to purchase N.E.34-20-13-4 by Mrs. Knudsen be refused. Carried. Moved by Councillor Douglass, that the application of the Eastern Irrigation District to subdivide the Pt S-2 20-24-15-W4th be approved. Moved by Councillor Armstrong, that School Busses # 1-5 and 25 be offered for Baled by Public Tender. 'Carried. Moved by Councillor Armstrong, that the proposed purchase of a new motor Grader be deferred until the December meeting. !Carried. Moved by Councillor Armstrong, that applicaation be made to include the following Projects in the 1964-65 Winter 1n~orks Incentive Program. Gravel Crushing 50000 yds. Culvert rip rapping Carried. Moved by Councillor Armstrong, that apprentice Mechanic R. Kristiansen be paid at the rate of $150.00 per month for the 5 weeks to be spent at the Apprentiship School. Carried. School Committee Moved by Councillor Eastman, that the report of the School Committee be accepted. Carried. Moved by Councillor Eastman, that the following appointments be made to the School Committee for 1965. Owen H. liake, Village of Duchess Eric E. Tatem, Village of Tilley Carried. Moved by Councillor Eastman, that no action be taken in converting the heating of the Rolling Hills Schools with natural gas, until further definite information is received from the Gas Co. Carried. Moved by Councillor Hajash, that the road agreement with Chas. Northcote, North of 'Sec. 33-18-15-4 for 1964 roadwork, be accepted. Carried. WILL40N SfATl01lERY FORM I!9•P ~R~ -4- Moved by Councillor Hajash, that the $100.00 provided for in the Agreement with Mrs. Wiebe Rosemary, for the removal of the house on the 22 acres of S~ 1-21-16-4, Rosemary School Ground, be paid over to our solicitor Mr. B. ~nl. Tibbitt, to be used to dispose of all of the Wiebe interest in the agreement, and to hold the County free from any possible future action. iCarried. Moved by Councillor Hajash, that permission be given to Empire State Oil Co. and to Western Land Services to drill for oil on LSD 6- Sec 18-19-14-4 subject to all Provincial Government regulations. Authorities Pension .act, the Local Authority is required to contribute '- r at the rate of six per cent of the employees' salaries rn and after ' April 1, 1962 and has ro further obligation in respect of past service of any employee - an extra one per cent is contributed by .the employer on current payroll; and '+JHFREAS notwithstanding the provisions of the aforesaid Regu~ lation 5, this Local Authority desires to transfer er has transferred to the Public Service Pension Board the employers contributions that were rn~3de t.:nder the former pl.1n; TH"HtFORT TH _~ i7NDF~ISIGN£D, on behalf of the Local Authority, hereby authorize the Public Service Pension Board to apply the aforesaid employer's contributions as follows: Firstly; as payment on any arrears of employer's contri- butions in respect of current service under the Local Authorities Pension Plan. Secondly; as payment on any arrears of employees' contri- butions in respect of prior service as defined !- by the Regulations under The Local Authorities -- , Pension Act.
