The regular monthly meeting of the Council of the County
of Newell No. 4 was held in the County Office in Brooks,
Alberta at 10:00 a.m, on Friday, September 18, 1964.

The minutes of the previous meeting of August 7th, 1964
were read and adopted.

Moved by Councillor Eastman, that the 5ecretary~s monthly
reports of Receipts, Payments, and Monthly Progress, for
the month, and to the end of August be accepted.

Moved by Councillor Armstrong that an allowance of $100.00
be made to County delegates in attendance at the A.A.M.D.
Convention in Calgary Nov, 17-18-19 ~ 20.

A letter from the Eastern Irrigation District declining
the County offer to purchase Pt Block 33 Plan 3027 HN
was read and discussed.

Moved by Councillor Douglass that a Committee be given
authority to negotiate with the Town of Brooks, and the
Eastern Irrigation District in acquiring the full acreage
available in Block 33 Plan 3027 HN Brooks for County Purpose:

Moved by Councillor Mandeville that a committee consisting
of Councillors Grosfield, Chrumka, and Hajash be appointed
to negotiate a deal with the Eastern Irrigation District
and the Town of Brooks for the acreage in Block 33 Plan
3027 HN Brooks.
Carried.

A letter and drawings for a Lutheran Church to be built in
Rolling Hills were received from D.H. Warner, Architect,
requesting approval.

Moved by Councillor Larsen that the County approve the
drawings by D.H. Warner for the Faith Lutheran Church at
Rolling Hills.

A letter from H. J. Gobeil, Rolling Hills, offering to
purchase Lot 1 Block 7 Plan 4945 F.W. Rollingr~Hills for
the sum of $100.00 was read and discussed.

Moved by Councillor Larsen, that the bid of H. J. Gobeil
to purchase Lot 1 Block 7 Plan 4945 F.W. Rolling Hills,
to~hich the County holds title under Tax Recovery proceed-
ings, for the sum of $100.00 be accepted.

A letter from the Provincial Planning Director re Applicat~.o:
Nol 64-D-581 to subdivide NE 16-21-18-4 was read and
referred to Councillor Armstrong.
Moved by Councillor Armstrong that the proposed Subdivision
of NE 16-21-18-4 be approved.
Carried.

Moved by Councillor Douglass, that the Roadwork Agreements
with regard to road allowance N of Secs 31-32-33-34-23-
16-4 completed by Messrs. Ryan, Jorgensen and Galarneau
as to their respected Lands be accepted.

The Performance Bond for $45,343.00 covering their contract
for Hardsurfacing of the Brooks-Duchess road for 3 miles
was received from Underwood and McLellan.
