The regular monthly meeting of the Council of the County of Newell No. ~.
was held in the County Office in Brooks Alberta at 10:00 a.m. on Friday
January 13th, x.961.

The minutes of the previous meeting of December 9th. 1960 were read and
adopted.

Moved by Councillor Eastman that the tender of David R, Hall to purchase
~ the old Industrial Arts Building at Rosemary for $360.00 be accepted.
Carried.

Moved by Councillor McAleese that the SecretaryLS report of receipts and

r!_t expenditures for the month of December 1960 be accepted.

read by all present.

Moved by Councillor Eastman that the proposed plan for the Rosemary
R.E.A. be approved.

A letter from United Grain Growers, re School Bus Insurance was read.

Moved by Councillor Shuttleworth~ that the County Liability Insurance on
School Busses be increased in accordance with the recommendations of the
Insurance Company.

Moved by Councillor Eastman, that the offer of G.V.D. Linden to purchase
the old Rosemary Industrial Arts Building for $150.00 be refused,

Moved by Councillor Shutt~,eworth, that Bylaw No. 206 to donate $26.00 to
~ the Prairie Provinces Forestry Assn, be given 1st. 2nd. and 3rd. readings
and finally passed.

Moved by Councillor Eastman? that the Secretary be authorized to complete
the payment to Chronik Construction and FQOks and Milne on account of the
Rosemary School when OKzd by Mr. Betton.

accepted. Carried.

Moved y Councillor Hajash, that the report of the Municipal Committee be
accepted. Carried.

Board be accepted Carried.

Moved by Councillor Eastman, that the report of the Hospital Committee

/r`1~,~ the damage claim of H.R. Bishop for hay eaten and spoiled by the cattle
'~, owned by H. Veiner., .
Moved by Councillor Andrews, that the damage claim of H.R. Bishop be
settled on the basis of 82 tons of Hay at X20.00 per ton $170.00
and that the additional$2:00 investigation. fee be also charged to Mr.
Veiner.
Carried.
The Council then resumed its.regular meeting.
Moved by Councillor McAleese that K. Lintott be appointed as Returning
Officer for the County nominations for 1961.
