HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963-19 Small Business Sub-Class COUNTY OF NEWELL IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA BYLAW NO. 1963-19 A BYLAW OF THE COUNTY OF NEWELL, IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA, FOR THE PURPOSE OF AUTHORIZING COUNCIL TO CLASSIFY SMALL BUSINESS PROPERTIES ACCORDINGLY INTO NON-RESIDENTIAL SUB-CLASSES. WHEREAS the Municipal Government Act, RSA 2000, CM-26, and any amendments or succession legislation thereto authorizes that Council may by Bylaw divide Class 2 into sub-classes prescribed by the regulation, and if Council does so, the assessor must assign one or more of the prescribed sub-classes to a property in class 2. AND WHEREAS Alberta Regulation 202/2017 establishes provisions to collect information for splitting of non-residential class into sub-classes either by business licenses or other means identified in a municipal bylaw: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Newell, duly assembled, hereby enacts as follows: 1. All businesses operating within the boundaries of the County of Newell that wish to be classified in the small business sub-class will be required to comply with the completion of a declaration confirming their employee count as at September 30 of the year prior to the year of taxation.
