Douglass H, Scammell The minutes of the previous meeting of September 7th, 1962 were read and adopted. . . Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that the Secretary~s monthly reports of receipts, payments and monthly progress for the month of September be accepted. Carried. • i f • • • Moved by Councillor Mandeville, that the tender of Dean Murphy to purchase the old barn at the Alcoma School for the sum of $25.00 be accepted. Earried. . • • • A A Moved by Councillor Shuttleworth, that the County sell a parcel of land 75~ x 1751 in the NS corner of Block nBii plan 4111 EA Scandia to the Bow Slope Mutual Tele- phone Co. for the sum of $100.00 plus the cost of survey, or lease the parcel to them for the rental of $10.00 per year. Stringam was read having to do with. the Gem«•Highway 36 road recently builty Councillor Douglass reported to Council on the matter and advised that it was his intention to meet with Mr. Stringam and endeavour to have a complete clarification made of the undertaking he gave at the time the road was being built. The letter was directed to be held for the next meeting of the County Councils and report of Councillor Douglass. . . Moved by Councillor Mandeville, that the County join with the E.I.D. and other organizations in protesting the abandonment of the Cassils..Scandia, Branch Line by the C.P,R. Carried. • e • • • • A letter from the Department of Highways, re the proposed closing of certain road allowance at Rainier was read. The Secretary was directed to advise the Department of Highways that it was the intention of the ~'•I.D. to sell the area contained within the road allowance presently being requested for cancellation. • • w • • • Moved by Councillor Shuttleworth~ that request be made for the bridges as set out in the Minister of Highways letter of September 28th, 1962. Carried. . : . A letter from the Department of Industry and Development re the licensing of Canadian Propane Consolidated in SW 9~19•.14NW4th was read.
