County of Newell No. 4 County Council July '7th, 1961 The regular monthly meeting of the Council of the County of Newell No. 4 was held in the County Office in Brooks, Alberta, at 10:00 a,m, on Friday, July 7th, 1961. Members present, Councillors A. P. F. Ja R. G. (After Lunch) N. Secretary-Treas. H. . . Chrumka McAleese Mandeville s. Hajash Eastman Douglass A. Shuttleworth Scammell Councillor McAleese chaired the meeting. The minutes of the previous meeting of June 9th, 1961, were read and adopted. Moved by Councillor Douglass that the Secretary~s report of Receipts and Payments for the month of June be accepted. . Carried. A letter of thanks from Mrs. Van Oene for the County participating in her wheel chair was read and ordered filed. _ An account was received from Drs. Rostrup and Cameron in ~r~ `~ the sum of $'700,00 for Medical Services to Mrs. Van Oene. i, . . A letter from the Department of Education re the Foundation Plan additional assistance was read and left to the Sec- retary to deal with. A letter from the Cassils Community Centre, re the Cassils School property was read. Moved by Councillor Eastman, that the offer of the Cassils Community Centre to purchase the old Cassils School, including furnace and tank, piano, and the outbuildings together with the land for the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) be accepted, subject to the approval.of the Minister of education. Carried. Correspondence re the Freight Assistance Policy was read and ordered filed pending further advice in the matter. . . The proposed plan for extension to the Tilley R.E.A. was approved. Reports of Committees Municipal Committee Moved by Councillor Douglass, that the report of the Municipal Committee be accepted. Carried. Moved by Councillor Eastman, that the resolution to remove the Right of Way fence by the Canadian Pacific Railway Co., at Rosemary and Patricia, copy of which is attached hereto and forms part of the minutes of this meeting, be passed.
