The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines for the Staff Relations
Committee.
GENERAL STATEMENT:
Whereas the County of Newell recognizes the importance of their staffing network
the Staff Relations Committee has been set up for the purposes of improving staff
retention and job satisfaction. The committee will strive towards improving
communication and teambuilding while encouraging camaraderie throughout the
Corporation.
POLICY GUIDELINES:
The Committee will consist of 7 staff members across the organization.
Membership to the committee will be ratified through resolution of the committee.
The committee will run regular meetings, keep meeting minutes and approve
initiatives and functions for the benefit of the staffing network of the County of
Newell.
The Committee agrees from time to time to review the policies that have impacts
on the County of Newell staff network for new initiatives, improvements and
effectiveness with purposes of improving staff satisfaction and retention
The Committee will meet once per month on Tuesday of the first full week of the
month. Any changes to that date will be approved at the Committee level.
The Committee agrees to stay within the budget approved by County Council for
the events within the fiscal year. A financial report will be submitted to the
Committee at the monthly meeting.
Any Event, function or expenditure organized or sponsored by the Committee will
be approved via a motion during the Monthly Committee meeting. Expenditure
authority for approved Committee initiatives will be given to the Committee
Chairman for signature and approval.
This policy will be reviewed annually by the committee with all recommendations
for change being approved by County Council.
