POLICY PURPOSE:
The purpose of this policy is to describe the parameters for Seed Cleaning plant
inspections.
POLICY GUIDELINES:
Seed Cleaning Plant inspections are carried out yearly under the authority of the
Weed Control Act. Seed samples are collected throughout the year and analyzed
for weed seed content and broken kernels prior to inspecting the seed cleaning
plants.
In October, seed cleaning plants are visually inspected to ensure equipment is
maintained and efforts have been made to reduce or eliminate seed spillage and
contamination. A license is then issued for display on the wall.
