By-law 627-78
A By-law of the County of Newell No. 4 for the purpose of closing
a portion of public highway in accordance with Section 175 and
Section 176 of the Municipal Government Act, Chapter 246, Statutes
of Alberta, 1970.
Whereas, the lands hereafter described are no longer required for
public travel and
Whereas, application has been made to the Council to have the
highway closed for the purpose of leasing and
Whereas, notice of intention of the Council to pass a By-law has
been mailed (by registered mail) to persons registered or assessed
as owners of the land abutting upon the portion of the highway so
proposed to be closed at least two weeks before the date fixed for
the passing of the By-law and
Whereas, notice of intention of the Council to pass a By-law has
been published in the Brooks Bulletin on February 1, 1978 and on
February 8, 1978, the last of such publications being at least two
weeks before the day fixed for the passing of the By-law and
Whereas, Council was not petitioned for an opportunity to be
heard by any person prejudicially affected by the By-law, except
for Calgary Power Ltd.
Now therefore be it resolved, that the Council of the County of
Newell No. 4 does hereby close and authorize the lease of the
following described public highway, subject to rights of access
granted by other legislation or regulations.
"All that portion of Road Allowance adjoining the east boundary
of Sections 1, , , , p ion y

Canadian Pacific Railway), 25 (excepting thereout that portion

required for road on Plan 3384 J.K.), all in Township 22, Range 15
W4M."

Sections 7 (portion lying west of road Plan 609 J.K.), 19 and 20
(portion lying west of road Plan 609 J.K.), all in Township 22,
Range 14, W4M."
