�✓ By-law No. 403
A by-law of the County of Newell No. 4 for the purpose of
closing and leasing a portion of public highway in accordance
with Section 175 and Section 175A of the Municipal Government
Act, Chapter 68, Statutes of Alberta, 1968.
Whereas, the lands hereafter described are no longer
required for public travel and
Whereas, application has been made to the Council to have
the highway closed for the purpose of leasing and
Whereas, notice of intention of the Council to pass a by-law
has been mailed (by registered mail) to persons registered or
assessed as owners of the land abutting upon the portion of the
highway so proposed to be closed at least two weeks before the
date fixed for the passing of the by-law and
Whereas, notice of intention of the Council to pass a by-law
has been published in the Brooks Bulletin on February 26, 1970
and on March 5th, 1970 the last of such publications being at 1oast
two weeks before the day fixed for the passing of the by-law and
Whereas, Council was not petitioned for an opportunity to be
heard by any person prejudicially affected by the by-law
Now therefore, be it resolved that the Council of the County
of Newell No. 4 does hereby close and authorize the lease of the
following described public highway:
"All that portion of the original road allowance lying to the
East of Section 5 Township 15 Range 15 West of 4th M."

Could you please advise us if By—law No. 409 has been with—
drawn. Our last correspondence was our letter to you dated
September 9, 1970, in which we questioned whether this by—law
was a duplicate of By—law No. 403, or if an error was made in
the description.
We would appreciate being advised of the present. status of
this by—law so that we may complete this file.
