TRAFFIC CONTROL CHANGE – TR192 AND RR154
Based on concerns from the public, the County of Newell has made a decision to alter the stop control at
the intersection of Township Road 19-2 and Range Road 15-4 in Division 5. Currently the intersection is
a two-way-stop-control intersection, with the through traffic travelling north south. The end result of
this process will see through traffic travelling east west, and two-way-stop-control north south.
To ensure motorists are educated and aware of the change, it will be implemented in multiple stages.
The first stage will occur on July 10, 2019. At this time additional stop signs will be installed northbound
and southbound, creating a four-way-stop. Additionally, in advance of the new stop signs, two “NEW”
signs will be installed to attract motorist’s attention to the change. This configuration will remain in
place for two weeks, and on July 24, 2019 the eastbound and westbound stop signs will be removed,
creating a two-way-stop-controlled intersection. The final step in the implementation will be to remove
the two “NEW” signs, and this will take place on August 23, 2019.
New signage arrangements will be advertised on site through the use of “NEW” signs as below:
CURRENT TRAFFIC FLOWS
July 10, 2019 – Install New Signage to Create Four-Way-Stop-Control
July 24, 2019 – Remove Signage to Create NEW Two-Way-Stop-Control
