Moved by Councillor Tautfest that we approve the sale of 1400 yds. of pit run gravel at 50¢~yd. from the Bassan.o Pit and 280 yds. of crushed gravel at $1.50~yd,: from the Rock Lake Pit to Cunningham & Shannon of Taber, with them supplying their own loader and paying our checker. High of Canadian Western Natural Gas Co. met with the Council to discuss Pipe Line Road Crossings. Moved by Councillor Musgrove that this matter be tabled and a further review be made of the subject at our next Council Meeting. Carried. An employee who is absent from work during any day for necessary medical or dental treatment, or because of accident, sickness or disability excluding (a) bodily injury sustained xhile doing any act or thing pertaining to any occupation or employment for wages or profit other than for the County of Newell No. ~; (b) any cause which entitles the employee to `in.demnity or compensation under any Workmen's Compensation Act; (c) intentionally self-inflicted injury while sane or insane; (d) pregnancy (includes childbirth or miscarriage and any disease or infirmity resulting from or aggravated by such pregnancy); (e) alcoholism; is entitled to receive his salary for the number of such days absent as follows: (1) an employee who has worked the 12 months in the year is entitled to receive his salary for a maximum of 18 such days absence in the year; (2) an employee who has worked less than 12 months during the year is entitled to receive his salary for the number of such days that is lessor of (a) the number of days he was absent. or (b) the number of days that bears the same relation. to 18 as the number of months worked bears to 12. (3) B efore paying salary under this section. the County may require a certificate from a qualified medical or dental practitioner. CUMULATIVE SICK LEAVE For the period from commencement of employment with the County to January 1, 1971 each employee shall have three-quarters of a day accumulated sick leave to their credit for each month he was employed during the said period. Thereafter each employee shall be entitled to credit for one-half the unused portion of the stipulated 18 days per year to an over-all maximum 90 cumulative sick leave days.
