Council Meeting

The regular Council Meeting of the County of Newell ido. 4 was held
inthe County Office at Brooks, Alberta on Friday, June 5, 1970 at
10:00 a.m.

The minutes of the May 5th Council Meeting were read and adopted.

Moved by Councillor Douglass that we sell 1200 yards of crushed
f gravel to John Wilfort Construction of Stettler from the Crawling
Valley Pit at $1.50 per yard. Carried.

Moved by Councillor Hall that we accept the Financial Report for

Application from Calgary Power Ltd. re Line Extension in the NE of
~~ 13-18-15_4 was read. Moved by Councillor Hajash that we approve
this application subject to all other regulations being met. Carried.

J. Bradshaw was read. Nbved by Councillor Hajash that we approve
this application subject to 10% Cash reserve being paid in lieu of
Land Public Reserve. Carried.

Application 70 M 36 from the Medicine Hat Planning Commission re
Mrs. Hilda Osborne Subdivision was read. Moved by Councillor Hajash
that we approve this application subject to 1 approach read being
~ allowed plus a service road to be constructed at developer's cost to
the property and that we call for a 10% Cash Reserve in lieu of a
Land Public Reserve. Carried.

Moved by Councillor Andrews that the Reeve appoint a committee of
~ three to investigate a setting up of a zoning by law and Public
Reserve by law re subdivision within the County. Carried.

Application from Canadian Western Natural Gas Ltd. re Line Extension
in Sec. 15 & 22-21-15-4 was read. Moved by Councillor Tautfest that

met. Carried.

~ airport committee was read and ordered filed.

Letter from the Minister of the Department of Mines & Minerals re
~ Gas exploration within Provincial Parks was read and ordered filed.

'~ and the Secretary advised to acknowledge his letter.

Letter from Wells Ranching Co. Ltd. re the closing and leasing of
road allowance from the Trans Canada Highway North along the SG14 of
17-19-14-4 was read. Moved by Councillor Hajash that we advertise
the closing and leasing of this road. Carried.

irrigation dam in the NW of 24-24-17_4 at Gem was read. Moved
by Councillor Douglass that we approve application for this

Letter from the Department of Municipal Affairs re Sun Oil Assessment
/ and Alberta Assessment Appeal Board was read and the Secretary advised
to investigate this matter further.

Letter from the County of Wheatland re proposed construction of
~ road in 23-19-4 was read and referred to Councillor Hall for further
action.

list be approved for payment. Carried.

Mr. Melvin Fieldberg of Tilley met with Council to discuss the closing
and leasing of the road allowance bordering the W2 of 24-17-14-4.

of this road allowance. Carried.

irrigation pump for the Jenny Lind School. Carried.

Moved by Councillor Larsen that we hire Mr. H. Armstrong for one
month at $500.00 per month plus mileage for potato inspections.
Carried.
Moved by Councillor Larsen that we approve the L. Rose drainage
proposal and the proposed County share as set out in the Agriculture
/ Service Board report. Carried.
