Scarm:iell The minutes of the following previous meetings were read & adopted; Regular-I~.arch 6th Court of Revision -March 12th Statutory -April 3rd. • • • w • ~`~ l; , Moved by Councillor Vossler that the Secretary~s report of .~:.~c::'.r ~: r~, '! and Expenditures for the mlonth of Tiarch be accepted., _ ~l. ~~ '' DrR Proudlock met the Council to discuss the future c Defence wn the Cou.~aty. . . • The :Secretary was directed to send out notices to all the towns and vi.llag~s in the County requesting them to have representation at a Civil Defence meeting to be held in the Brooks Town Hall at 8:00 p•m• on Wednesday, May 20~ 1959, with J. Hajash representing this County• . • • Moved by Councillor Plumer that the County accept the responsibility of Civil Defence expenditure for 1959-b0 to the extent of 50~ of the cost or a maximum of ~ 1~000.00• Carried. . . . Clean up week in the County was designated as May 4th to 9th, 1959 . • • . Correspondence from A. A, M. D, re the use of Municipal machine~°±- in custom works etc. was read and ordered filed. • 4 • • . Moved by Councillor Douglass that Bylaw No„ 1$2 to donate ~ 150•C~ to the Canadian Institute for the Blind be given lst~ 2nd and 3rd readings and finally passed. ~ ,,!! Moved by Councillor Loki.er that the offer of J. Murphy to purchase the old ona car garage building on the Ayling lot in Rainier for ~ 100.00 be accepted. Carried. • w s • s Advice was received from the Department of Agriculture nominating Ira Lapp as a member of the Agricultural Service Board., * . s s • The Secretary was directed to withhold payment of the architectst account pending satisfactory completion of Rosemary and Rolling Hills schools and authorization from Council. • a s • s Advice was received of the Ministerial Order covering the addition of unorganized land into School Districts. • . . « • Moved by Councillor Lokier that the Departments of Education and Municipal Affairs be advised that the recent changes in adding to existing school districts fY~om unorganized territory are inadequate and not iri keeping with the original intent.
