July 11th. 1958.
The regular monthly meeting pf the Council of the County of
Newell No. /~ was held in the County Office in Brooks, Alberta,
at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11th, 1958.

The minutes of the meeting of June 6th, 1958 were read & adopted,

Moved by Councillor Lokier that the Secretary~s reports of Receipts &
Expenditures and Monthly Progress for the month of June be accepted.

A letter from the :Alberta School Trustees :Association re a
questionnaire was referred to the :Secretary to complete. ~
. .
A letter from R. C. Peyton advising of his school bus being for sale
at ~ 800.00 was read for the information of school transportation.
. ,
The application of Ohama Bros. for a license to operate an
Automotive Repair and `Service Garage was approved. ~%
. .
Correspondence with regard to Mrs. Freimuth and children by the
Departments of Public Welfare in B.C. and .Alberta was read and ordered
f fled.

A letter from Fooks & Milne re the items to be completed at Rolling
~~ Hills school was read and ordered filed. ~f.

.Approval was received for the addition to the Tilley school, i'

A letter from the Department of Education re the offering for sale
of debentures for the Rosemary school was read. - j

It was decided that no offer for sale be made at this time. s
. .
~iuthority was received from the Board of Public Utility Commissioners
to date the Rosemary debentures up to June 30th, 1959.

.A letter from Meech, Mitchell, etc. re the comparative costs of
heating by coal or oil in the Duchess school was read and ordered filed,
. .
A letter from E, H. Gabert offering to purchase the teacherage in which
he resides, 2 lots and woodshed for ~ 500.00 was read,
. .
P~bved by Councillor Lokier that E. H. Gabert be offered the house only
for the sum of $ 1,000.00, he to remove the house on to other property
within one year„ ,.
