The regular monthly meeting of the Council of the County of Newell No. 4 was held in the County Office in Brooks Albertan at l0:OG a.m. on Friday December ~th~ 1955• . . Members present: Chairman Councillors Secretary-Treasurer N.A. Shuttleworth J+ Mortensen P. M~leese R. rrison K, araksa G. Douglass B. Plumer H. Ockey W. Lokier H.C, Seammell . . The Minutes of the meeting of November 14th 1955 were read and adopted. . . Moved by Councillor Douglass that the resolution with regard to the installation of streetlights at Gem attached and forming part of the minutes of -~" this meeting be passed. Carried. . . Moved by Councillor Arrison~ that application be made to have that area of the County t~hieh was previously in the Bow Valley Health Unit included in the Medicine ~ Hat Health Unit„ Carried. • s • • s It was unanimously agreed that the offers to purchase the Bethany Barn and food Shed and the Antelope Creek ~, School building be refused. . . The Secretary reported the progress and read correspondence to date with regard to the New Bassano School. r . . A letter from T. VP. Moved by Councillor Lokier that teacherages be supplied to the teachers at cost. Carried. Moved by Councillor Ockey~ that the Council concur in the School Committee's recommendations with regard to the vanning of school children to Field and Track Meets„ Carried. , . . A recd ution to request the Minister of Health to transfer lands reviously included in the now dissolved Bow Valley Health Unit into the Medicine Hat Health Unit. the Bow Valley Health Unit is being dissolved. Lands of the County of Newell No. 4 formerly ~n that Health Unit will not be included in any Health Unit. The County Council is of the opinion that all of the lands within the County should be included within the boundaries of the Medicine Hat Health. Unit. .I'1' RESOLVED that the County of Newell No. 4 make application to the Minister of Health to have those lands west of Range 16, formerly included in the Bow Valley Health Unit, now transferred to the Medicine Hat Health Unit. By so doing all of the lands contained within the boundaries of the County of Newell No. 4 will be covered by the services of the Medicine Hat Health Unit.
