The regular monthly meeting of the Council of the
County of Newell No. 4 was held in the County Office
in Brooks, Alberta at A:00 a.m. on Friday June 26th,
1953.00

read and adopted.

Moved by Councillor Plumer, that application be
made to have the road from N of M4 32-20-15-W4 to
the Village of Duchess declared a District Highway.

Moved by Councillor Arrison, that the Second Hand
Loader, for use with a Ford Tractor, be purchased i
from the Brooks Gara§e and T'vIachine Shop, Brooks,
for the sum of Five undred and Fifty Dollars,

Moved by Councillor Arrison, that the School
Division Truck, 2 ton ,be converted to a Dump Truck,
and that a Winch and 'A' Frame be installed, cost of

appointed to meet with the E.I.D. Board for the 4
purpose of discussing -the Proposal to Include
Unorganized Lands into School Districts.

Village of Tilley to purchase the Old Austin 77
Motor Grader for the sum of Eight Hundred Dollars be ti
accepted, and that the transaction be on a cash basis.

Revenue and Expenditure for the months of April and
May be accepted.

Councillor Plumer reported on the proposed action of
the School Committee with regard to the unsatisfactory
condition of the Sewage Disposal plants, and the
Drinking 'later Supply at various 6chools within the
County.

ordered filed.

Moved by Councillor licAleese, that the salary of
Miss F. Nason, Stenographer be increased from "W110.00
to X120.00 per month commencing`July lst 1953.
Councillors Plumer, lviortensenI and Shuttleworth were
appointed as a Committee to hold a Court of Revision
to hear appeals against assessments, to be held Tuesday
July 7th 1953 at 10:00 a.m.
Moved by Councillor Mortensen, that the Road Allowance
south of Section 2$-19-14-W4 be closed.

!•loved by Councillor Plumer, that the house owned by
S. Cicon, situate on the 1,51 30-15-15--V14 be purchased
for the sum of Fifteen Hundred Dollars, (41500.00)
and used as a teacherage.

Moved by Councillor Ockey, that the Secretary be
authorized to order an office desk for the use of
the school Superintendent.

Correspondence with regard to the pollution of the
Bow River was ordered filed.
The Secretary was directed to advise the Canadian
Legion, that the Dormitory Building was not for sale
at this time.
The Secretary was directed to advise the C.P.R. that
the matter of Cattle Guard removal should be further
investigated at Gem.
Moved by Councillor Ockey, that Bylaw No. 85, being a
bylaw to authorize the donation of the following sums:
Canadian Institute for the Blind V125.00
Canddian Forestry Association 25.00
be given First, Second and Third beadings and finally
passed.
