anrointed as the representative for the Village of
Tilley on the School Committee.

lioved by Councillor Ockey, that Messrs. Harris & Fingarson,
Brooks, Alberta, be appointed as Auditors for the year 1953
at a fee of 0750.00.

Er. Paul Lloyd, met the Council with regard to his being
employed as Assessor for the County.
Moved by Chairman Shuttleworth that 1,,-r. Lloyd be arpointed
Assessor for the County for the year 1953.
Carried.
lir. Foster, Roadma.ster for the Canadian _Pacific Railway
in this District Met the Council to discuss the ari)lication
by that Company, to remove Cattleguards from the railroad
crossings throughout the County. He was informed that
the matter would be investigated by each Councillor and
considered at the next meeting of the Council.
In the discussion 1:'ith regard to the weeds on the Right
of viay, 14r. Foster assured the Council that he would give
his cooperation in the rrogram of 1deed Eradication in the
County.

11oved by Councillor Plumer that an orcer be r�laced with
Concrete Pipe Co, for concrete culvert to the value of
2,000.00 to be delivered as requested by the Council.

Moved by Chairman Shuttleworth, that rermission be given
to Alex Syryda to instal Texas Gates at the north end
of the road, between Sections 3 and 4 in Township 14,
Range 13, td 4th, and to fence the road allowance, leaving
a .removable gate for passage between Section 2 and 3 on
the North Boundary.
Carried.
It was unanimously agreed that a Court of Revision to
hear A -^peals against 1952 Assessments adopted for 1953
be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday 24th, 1953. The following
Councillors were appointed as the Court Nevision.

!,loved by Councillor i lumer, that the attention of the
Department of agriculture be drawn to the fact, that in
the opinion of the County Council, the use being made
of the District 'agriculturist, Ira Lapp, as an agent
of the Derartment of Labor, in placing labor, is not in
the best interests of the County and that a recommendation;
be made to have the situation remedied..

Moved by Councillor Lokier that Councillor Arrison be
ap^ointed chairman of the tLgricultural Service Board.
Carried.

Agricultural Service '-oard.

Notice was received rom the Department of Agricalture of
Kr. Ira Lapp's aprointment as the Departments represent-
ative on the Agricultural Service-,oard.

It was unanimously agreed that as many members of the
Council as possible attend the joint meeting to be called
of the Agric. Service Board, the E.I.D. Trustees and the
County Council.

appointed Agricultural Service Board Supervisor for the
County, at a Salary of ;;;200.00 per month, and car mileage
at 100 per mile for each mile necessarily travelled on

to the application by N. Kush for a Restaurant and General
Store license from the Department of Trade and Industry..

The Secretary was directed to write to Idr. ' aynard the
Sa:-.itary Inspector of the P-Iedicine Hat Health Unit, request-
ing his cooperation and advise with regard to the reports
he made on the Rainier, Rolling Hills and Duchess Schools.`
Councillor IIcAleese undertook to investigate the Patricia
Nuisance Ground report.

It was unanimously agreed that the estimate of i•Iessrs.
�seufeld and Johnson to build an addition to the E.I.D.
buildingg to accomodate the County Offices, for the sure
of ;13,609.93 be submitted to the L.I.D. roard through
the chairman and Secretary and that they be authorized
to act for the Council on finalizing an agreement with
the E.I.D.

Agreement with the-Ueenbirn Collieries be renewed for
the year 195?.

the County to purchase four acres of land in the S.E.
quarter of Section 19, Township 15, Range 13, W 4th from
the Eastern Irrigation District for the purpose of a
Nuisance Ground for the Hamlet of polling Hills, at the
suir, of `40.00 be given 1st, 2nd and 3rd readings and
finally rassed.

Teachera.ge in Tilley, rrurchased by the E.I.D. School
Division 3oard in 1952 for the sum of ;;;:3500.00 on which
there is a balance owing of %1500.00 be completed, and

Arrison for coordination with the Bassano resolutions.

as Secretary -Treasurer of the County and ordered filed.
A resolution from S. Pantry School District 4961L with
regard to roads was ordered held for consideration in
the 19".3 over all road :.;rogram.
T,.otice was received from the Board of Industrial F.elaticns
of the refusal to Permit the 1.-.I.D. Bus Operators
Association to act as bargaining agent.
Copy of O/C TJo. 113/53 to authorize the County to operE,te
a Payroll Account was ordered filed.
The Council confirmed the action of the Secretary in
issuing emergency relief in the sum of ,-.'75.00 per month
to firs. Joan Bannick, Rosemary.
The Secretary was directed to advise 1r. Z. C. Peyton,
Rainier, that his reouest for road gravelling would be
considered in the over all road.building program of the
County.
