Municipal Planning Commission
August 20, 1980
The regular meeting of the Municipal Planning Commission of the
County of Newell No. 4 was held in the County Office at Brooks,
Alberta on August 20, 1980 at 7:50 p.m.
Members in attendance were:
Chairman H. Janzen
T. Musgrove
L. Brockelsby
E. Willms
S. Merkl
Dev. Control Officer D. Coffey
Secretary G. Ledene
1. Minutes
The minutes of the meeting held July 24, 1980 were read to the
'Commission. Moved by Councillor Brockelsby that the minutes be
approved. Carried.
2. Business from Minutes
Chairman Janzen advised that G. Ledene has been appointed Secretary
to the Commission by County Council.
3. New Business
1. Land Use Changes
a) W: Allan - A development application by W. Allan to operate
an oilfield supply and service business on the South half of LSD 9-
7-19-14-4 was presented to the Commission. Moved by Councillor
Brockelsby that the application be approved under discretionary use.
Carried.
b) H. Dyck - An application from Henry Dyck to re-classify a
parcel in SW 7-19-13-4 from Urban Fringe to Country Residence was
presented. Moved by Councillor Musgrove that this application be
tabled until the Area Structure Plan is completed. Carried.
c) E. Seitz - An application from Earl Seitz to re-classify a
parcel from Agricultural to Country Residence in S~ and NWT of
LS4 4-20-13-4 was presented. Moved by S. Merkl that we recommend
to County Council the re-classification of this parcel. Carried.
d) W: Jorgenson - A development application from Wilfred Jorgenson
for a residence on a parcel at NE 16-31-16-4 was presented. Moved by
Councillor Musgrove that we approve the application as discretionary
use. Carried.
2. Permits
The Development Control Officer presented a list of development
permits issued to date.
3. Inquiry - Dwelling Units
The Development Control Officer presented an inquiry received
regarding the number of dwelling units allowed on a parcel
classified as Agricultural.
