MUNICIPAL PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
May 23, 2019
The regular Municipal Planning Commission Meeting of the County of Newell was held in the
County Office at Brooks, AB on Thursday, May 23, 2019 commencing at 10:00 a.m.

The Chairman called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.

P-41/19 MOVED BY COUNCILLOR ANNE MARIE PHILIPSEN that the minutes of the May 9,
2019 Municipal Planning Commission meeting be adopted as presented.

P-42/19 MOVED BY COUNCILLOR TRACY FYFE that the agenda be adopted as presented.

E. Unruh excused herself due to a pecuniary interest at 10:03 a.m
P-43119 MOVED BY COUNCILLOR KELLY CHRISTMAN to LIFT Subdivision 2019-0-011 from
the table.
MOTION CARRIED
5.1 2019-0-011 - NW1/418-16-15-W4M, To create one new parcel approximately
30.57 acres (12.37 ha) in size, containing an existing residence, shop, and barns,
from a previously unsubdivided quarter section for residential use.
The Manager of Planning & Development provided updated information on the
proposed application.
MPC was given the opportunity to ask questions. There was discussion
regarding the movement of the pivot on the parcel.
P-44/19 MOVED BY COUNCILLOR KELLY CHRISTMAN THAT the Country Residential
subdivision of NW1/4 18-16-15-W4M (Certificate of Title No. 131 209 932), to create one
new parcel approximately 31.11 acres (12.59 ha) in size, containing an existing
residence, from a previously unsubdivided quarter section for residential use BE
APPROVED subject to the following:
CONDITIONS:
1. That, pursuant to Section 654(1)(d) of the Municipal Government Act, all outstanding
property taxes shall be paid to the County of Newell.

E. Unruh returned at 10:06 a.m.
