Minutes of Special Council Meeting
June 14, 1994
A special Council Meeting of the County of Newell #4 was held in the County Office at Brooks,
Alberta on Tuesday, June 14, 1994 commencing at 3:00 p.m.

Councillors W. Daniels

W. Rommens
B. Baxter
M. Loewen
B. Scheuerman
P. Barg
Administrator M. Bowen
Notice of Special Meeting
Letter calling for a Special Meeting is attached to, and forms part of, these minutes.
Waiver of Notice
Waiver of Notice is attached to, and forms part of, these minutes.
~~ Purpose of Meeting
The purpose of this meeting is to approve the Regional Agreement and pass the necessary By-
laws required.
Regional Agreement
After discussion, it was moved by Councillor Loewen that we approve the Regional Agreement
as recommended by the County of Newell Board of Education. Carried.
By-law 1105-94
Moved by Councillor Barg that By-law 1105-94, being a By-law for the formation of a Regional
Division, to be called the Grasslands Regional Division, receive first reading. Carried.
Moved by Councillor Rommens that By-law 1105-94 receive second reading. Carried.
Moved by Councillor Berg that By-law 1105-94 receive consent of Council for third and final
reading. Consent was not unanimous, therefore third reading will not take place at this time.

Moved by Councillor Loewen that By-law 1106-94, being a By-law to establish the electoral
subdivisions of the Regional Division, to be called the Grasslands Regional Division, receive first
reading. Carried.
Moved by Councillor Daniels that Bylaw 1106-94 receive second reading. Carried.
Moved by Councillor Rommens that By-law 1106.94 receive consent of Council for third and final
reading. Consent was not unanimous, therefore third reading will not take place at this time.
Adjourn
Moved by Councillor Barg that the meeting adjourn at 3:35 p.m. Carried.
