Council Meeting
July 13, 1989
A Council Meeting of the County of Newell No. 4 was
held in the County Office on Thursday, July 13, 1989
commencing at 10:00 a.m. to discuss S.H. 876 and
the Vision 20/20 Program.

Moved by Councillor Regehr that we proceed with the
Special Meeting Agenda as set. Carried.
Moved by Councillor Regehr that we move into camera.
Carried.
Moved by Councillor Regehr that we move out of camera.
Carried.
Delegation
A delegation consisting of J. Genovese, Div. 3;
~~ G. Neely, Div. 3; and L. Williams, from Special Areas,
met with Council at 11:00 a.m. Also in attendance
were P. Faminow & D. Wong, of Alberta Transportation.
After the presentation and a lengthy discussion,
it was moved by Councillor Wells that a reply be
sent to the delegation noting their concerns and
indicating that the members of the area will have
to work closely together with County Council and
that we should be looking to the Government to classify
this road under the Natural Resources Road Program
for improvements. They are also to be advised that
no change will be made in our Secondary Highway Paving
Program as to the Priority List. They were asked
to make contact with Special Areas, Town of Brooks
and the E.I.D. to encourage their support to the
Government for improvements to S.H. 876. Vote on
the motion - Carried.
Lunch
Council recessed for lunch from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m.
Vision 20/20
Mrs. Eleanor Wright, of Vision 20/20, met with Council.
A short film presentation was made and discussions
were carried out on the Vision 20/20 Program. Moved
by Councillor Nelson that we table discussion on
this Program until our September Meeting. Carried.
