Reconvened Council Meeting
January 17, 1989
The reconvened Council Meeting of the County of Newell No. 4
was held in the County Office at Brooks, Alberta on Tuesday,
January 17, 1989 commencing at 3:30 p.m.

1. Salary Committee Report
Moved by Councillor Wallace that we move into camera. Carried.
Moved by Councillor Wells that we move out of camera. Carried.
Moved by Councillor Wells that we approve the recommendations
of the Salary Negotiating Committee for the following personnel:
Assessor, A.S.B. Fieldman, P.W. Supervisor, Assistant P.W. Super-
visor, Culvert Foreman, Auto Shop Foreman, Heavy Duty Shop Foreman,
Partsman and A.S.B. Assistants. After the various adjustments
to the salaries as presented, their salaries are to be increased
by 2% for 1989 and the long service bonus be paid as presented.
Further that, in 1990, another 2Z% be added to their salaries
and that the County pay 60% of the Alberta Health Care and Alberta
Blue Cross premiums. As for the Development Control Officer,
Yard Caretaker, Weed Inspectors, Warble Inspectors and Office
Caretakers, their salaries are to be adjusted as presented.
These salaries do not include the long service bonus or the
60% of the benefit package as stated above. Vote on the motion -
Carried.
The joint staff salaries are referred back to the Negotiating
Committee for further study.
2. Bar 4 T Ranch - Bridge Request by E.I.D.
Councillor Conners reported on this item and advised that the
present road is not on a road allowance and that the Bar 4 T
Ranch does not want the road allowance opened in this area.
After discussion, it was moved by Councillor Conners that we
advise the E.I.D, of this situation and that the County is not
prepared to proceed further on this matter. Carried.
3. Gravel Pit Reserve
Moved by Councillor Conners that we approve the proposed reserve
for purchase of future gravel pits. Carried.
4. Adjourn
Meeting adjourned at 4:05 p.m.
