Council Meeting
October 23, 1986
A Council Meeting of the County of Newell No. 4 was held in
the County Office at Brooks, Alberta on Thursday, October 23,
1986 commencing at 2:20 p.m.

1. Minutes
Minutes of the October 9, 1986 meeting were read to the Council.
Moved by Councillor Fabian that we adopt these minuts as corrected.
Carried.
2. Business from Minutes
3-7 Brooks Hospital Board - County Wards
Moved by Councillor Regehr that we rescind Motion ~k3-7 of the
October 9, 1986 meeting as this does not conform with the Hospital
Act. Carried.

This item is still under study.

3. Correspondence
1. Alberta Planning Board - Appeal
Information of the Alberta Planning Board appeal to be held
on October 29, 1986 was presented to the Council and the information
presented to our representatives who will be attending this appeal.
2. Dinosaur Provincial Park Task Force
Information on a meeting to be held on October 24th was presented
to Council for their information.
3. Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan
Information on this plan was presented to Council for their
information.

1. Convention
Information on the A.A.M.D. & C. Convention to be held from
November 10 - 14 was presented to Council for information regarding
location, who will be attending, orientation meetings and Reeve's
meeting.

This information was requested from the new Councillors.

This information was requested from the new Councillors.
5. Information
The Administrator spoke to the Council in regard to a proposed
local orientation meeting which would be held at a later date.
6. Post Agenda Items
1. Patricia Mobile Home Permit
Further discussion took place in regard to this item. After
hearing a presentation from a delegation from the Hamlet of
Patricia, the Council agreed that the Reeve, Councillor Fabian
and Councillor Conners would meet with the applicant of this
permit to discuss the matter further. This meeting is being
arranged, if possible, for October 24th.
2. Prov. Parks & Rec. - Dirt for Road Building of Old ~~1 HiQhwa
Information was presented to the Board in regard to obtaining
dirt from Provincial Parks & Recreation for this road project.
Moved by Councillor Wells that we approve the agreement with
Provincial Parks & Recreation. Carried.
3. Division 10 Representative to Board of Education
Moved by Councillor Fabian that the County Council approve the
attendance of the Division 10 Councillor to the Board of Education
Meetings in order that he may be kept up-to-date on the Board
of Education proceedings with the understanding that he will
not be eligible to vote at this meeting but could be used as
a resource person for information as requested from the Chair.
Further, that fees for attendance at this meeting and any Conventions
be paid for out of the County budget and charged for under Municipal
Supervision. Carried
