Special Council Meeting
May 27, 1986
A special Council Meeting of the County of Newell No. 4 was
held in the County Office at Brooks, Alberta on Tuesday, May
27, 1986 commencing at 3:00 p.m.

part of these minutes.
Frontage Tax - First Avenue East
Further information was presented to the Council from the Town
of Brooks in regard to the cost, grants and frontage charges
on the construction of First Avenue East. Moved by Councillor
Workes that he be excused from discussion and voting on this
matter. Carried. After reviewing these figures, it was moved
by Councillor Hall that we rescind our previous motion regarding
a petition to the Town on the frontage tax, if a majority of
the other property owners who signed the petition also withdraw.
Carried.
3. Request for Temporary Closing of Road Allowance
Request from Wes Ingram, of Tilley, for the temporary closing
of the road allowance east of 28-17-13-4 during the proposed
Air Show was presented to Council. After discussion, it was
moved by Councillor Conners that we advise Mr. Ingram that we
will not close this road allowance. Carried.
4. Barry/Gellings
Further information was presented to the Council in regard to
this file. After discussion, it was moved by Councillor Conners
that we advise our Solicitor to proceed with the cancelling
of our claim against Barry & Gellings subject to them signing
an Agreement that any past or future claims against the County
concerning these matters will be withdrawn. Carried.
