Special Council Meeting

A Special Council Meeting of the County of Newell No. 4 was held
in the County Office, at Brooks, Alberta on March 10, 1980 to
discuss the Land Use Bylaw.
The meeting was called to order at 1:30 p.m. bg Reeve T. Musgrove.

The Land Use Bylaw
A lengthy discussion took place on the final draft of the Land
Use Bylaw and a numbex of amendments made to the bylaw.
Excused from the Meeting
Councillor Grosfield requested that she be excused from the meeting
at 4:00 p.m.
A further discussion then took place on the bylaw and it was moved
by Councillor Hajash Bylaw 691-80 being the Land Use Bylaw of the
County of Newell No. 4 receive first reading. Carried.
Municipal Planning Commission
A discussion took place on the proposed Bylaw for the Municipal
Planning Commission. Moved by Councillor Christensen that the
County of Newell Municipal Planning Bylaw 692-80 receive first
reading. Carried.
Development Appeal Board
A discussion took place on the proposed Development Appeal Board
Bylaw. Moved by Councillor Janzen that the County of Newell No. 4
Development Appeal Bylaw 693-80 receive first reading. Carried.
Advertising
It was agreed that the advertising of the Public Notice as requiring
under the act be placed in the Brooks Bulletin and the Bassano Times
for March 12 & 19.
Public Meetings
It was agreed that public meetings would be held on March 28, at
the Brooks Composite High Library at 7:30 p.m.; April 9, Rosemary
High School Library 7:30 p.m. ; April 11, Rolling Hi11s School at
7:30 p.m.
Country Residence Subdivision Poli
The proposed Country Residential Subdivision Policy as recommended by

South Eastern Regional Planning Commission was presented to the
Council. Discussion took place on this item and then tabled for
further study. The Administrator was to advise the Planning Commission
that they will be studying this recommendation further and would
appreciate having a meeting with the commission and all agencies
concerned to discuss this item further.
