Special Council Meeting
June 19, 1979
The Special Council Meeting of the County of Newell No. 4 was held in
the County Office at Brooks,. Alberta on June 19, 1979 for discussion
of the Eastern Irrigation Agricultural Society Complex, commencing at
1:30 p.m.

2. Waiver of Notice of Meeting is attached to, and forms part of, these
minutes,
3. Agricultural Complex
Mr, Kevin Ferguson, of Alberta Housing, was in attendance at the meeting
to discuss the program and answer any questions that Council had in
regard to the proposed application for this Complex.
Mr. Ron Eyre and Bob Lore, of the Agriculture Society, were also in
attendance at the meeting.
After reviewing the proposed application, it was moved by Councillor
Fabian that the motion of our June 14, 1979 Council Meeting, which
reads: 'Moved by Councillor Musgrove that we make application to
Alberta Housing Corporation for grant toward the Eastern Irrigation
Agricultural Society Complex in the amount of $400,000,00 using a
population figure of 3000 within the designated County area.' be
rescinded. Vote on the motion -Carried.
4. Moved by Councillor Janzen that we make application to Alberta Housing
Corporation for grant towards the Eastern Irrigation Agricultural Society
Complex in the amount of $464,000.00 using a population figure of 3093
within the designated County area. Also, that the County agrees to
guarantee the sum of 25% share as set out in the terms for application
of this grant. Carried.
5. Moved by Councillor Christensen that we proceed immediately with the
Jaint Ilse Agreement between the County of Newell No. 4 and the Eastern
Irrigation Agricultural Society fox the financing and operation of
this proposed Complex. Carried.

Meeting adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
