Carried. .~~~' Item 528 - Asher Caveat No information was received. Item 543 - Jubilee Insurance ~~! No reply has yet been received. Item 545 - Rosemary Representative to Library Board ,, i Councillor Boehme reported that no new member has been contacted as ', yet. Item 566 - Planning Commission '~i Review Guidelines were tabled until the next meeting. .,,~ Item 567 - McAmmond Lot at Scandia I Councillor Brockelsby reported - tabled until September meeting. Item 548 - Nelson Lintott Rezoning of Caveat a - I Moved by Councillor Musgrove that we notify Mr. Lintott that we " have no objection to changing the Caveat to allow 5 trailers i providing there are no objections from thee)-mmediate neighbors I and that we receive favorable comments from Medicine Hat Planning Board and the Medicine Hat Health Unit. Carried. 576. Correspondence 1. Letter from Medicine Hat Health Unit regarding the Patricia Water Supply was read to Council for their information. ti~ `y~V, ~.. ~ , ,~ 2. Letter from Mrs. Connie Waddle requesting monthly payments of her mobile home licence was read to Council. Moved by Councillor I Brockelsby that we approve the monthly payments. Carried. Page 68 3. Letter from the E,I,D, requesting approval of Road Use Agreements SE 26-14-14, SE 26-14-14 (north-south road), SW 25-I4-14 (farm crossing), SE 25-14-14 (east-west road), East boundary NE 24-14-14 and NE 19-14-13 (north-south road) were presented to Council. Moved by Councillor Vogel that we approve these Road Use Agreements. Carried. 4. Letter from the E.I.D. regarding the culvert installation east center of 17-17-13 was read to Council. The Assistant Administrator was instructed to write a letter to the E.I.D., Attention Mr. C. Redelback, copy to B. White, J. Hollinda - Tilley, and R. Peltier - Rosemary, stating that this road was built in relation to the level of the bridge at the time of road construction therefor installation of this culvert should have been in relation to the road, As a consequence, this installation along with others of a similar nature in the future, will require a minimum of 12" of compacted material on the culvert, a level of 50' on each side, and not less than a 1 - 10 slope to bring it back to the normal grade. 577. Letter from Alberta Environment re: Western Canada Water & '' Sewage Conference 29th Annual Convention on September 28, 29 & 30 in Edmonton, was read to Council for information. ~~ 8. Letter from Alberta Transportation requesting the County's Policy of road banning was read to Council. The Assistant County I Administrator was instructed to reply advising that the County Policy of road banning has been on paved or oiled roads, and ,~ giving the locations of any additions to our mileage on paved or ~ ~ oiled roads this year. I . . 578. j Patricia Sewer Tenders Tenders from Trimac Industries (Medicine Hat), K. Construction (Taber), Craig Construction (Pincher Creek), Flint Construction ', (Brooks), L. San Industries (Medicine Hat), Whistle Enterprises (Calgary) and Cunningham & Shannon (Taber) were opened and read to Council. After discussion with Mr. Hogg & Associates, Councillor I Musgrove moved that we award the Contract to Flint Construction subject to Local Authorities approval. Carried, 579. ' Tirol Gas Marvin Miller of Tirol Gas met with Council to inform them of the necessity of a gas line move on the Rolling Hills drain which is being dug. This matter was referred to CouncillozsJanzen, Musgrove and Fabian for investigation before approval. Florence Matoba Letter from Florence Matoba requesting permission to plant trees 15' inside the fence line in NE 13-21-17-4 was read to Council. Moved by Councillor Bartlett that we inform Florence Matoba that~~~ `;'` .~, Page 69 ~'~ she can plant the trees at this location providing that if the County wishes a road widening at a future date, the trees will be moved at her expense. Carried. 582. Gravel Pit SE 12-20-15 ti Letter from John E. Lawson regarding the cleaning up and levelling of this gravel pit and the turning back of Title to him was read to Council. Moved by Councillor Bartlett that we notify Mr. Lawson of our intent to clean and level this gravel pit and return Title as per original agreement. Carried. 583. Grossman vs. County of Newell Letter from McLaws & Co. regarding a Statement of Claim issued against the County was read to Council. The Assistant County Administrator was requested to advise our Lawyer and Insurance Company of this Statement of Claim. 584. Calgary Power y. ' ', Application from Calgary Power for line extension in SE 7-19-15-4 was presented to Council. Moved by Councillor Hajash that we approve this application subject to all regulations. Carried. ~' i 585. Calgary Power Application from Calgary Power for line extension in NW 33-19-14 -4 ! was presented to Council. Moved by Councillor Bartlett that we approve this application subject to all regulations. Carried. ' 586. ~: Calgary Power Application from Calgary Power for line extension in SE 25-20-16-4 was presented to Council. Moved by Councillor Boehme that we approve this application subject to all regulations. Carried. 587. ,~ Calgary Power ', Application from Calgary Power for line extension in NE 34-16-13-4 was presented to Council. Moved by Councillor Fabian that we approve this application subject to all regulations. Carried. 588. ,h Canadian Western Natural Gas Application from Canadian Western Natural Gas in 9-19-14-4 was presented to Council. Moved by Councillor Janzen that we approve I this application subject to our By-law. Moved by Councillor Fabian that I we approve these crossings subject to our By-law and the boring of ': all improved roads. Carried. 590. ~ Merland Explorations Ltd. '',~ I Letter from Merland Explorations Ltd. requesting permission to trench and restore crossings rather than bore them was read. to Council. Moved by Councillor Hajash 237-1607 (149 P) that we approve this application subject to cash in-lieu-of Public ''! Reserve and a Country Residence Caveat. Carried, . . I 4 ~ ~ ~ ~~ i Page 70 592. ~ Appraisals Appraisals for the Philip Martin subdivision, Karl Aimoto subdivision, and Kelly Farms subdivision were presented to Council. Moved by Councillor Bartlett that we accept these appraisals. Carried. 593. ~ Road Agreements ` Road Agreements from John Heron and James Neely were presented to Council. Moved by Councillor Musgrove that we approve these Road Agreements. Carried. 594. ;~ Excused from Meeting Councillor Boehme requested that he be excused from the meeting. I/ Use of Public Reserve Funds A discussion took place on the use of Public Reserve Funds for buying park land at Patricia, The Assistant County Administrator was instructed to investigate the possibilities of buying this recreation park from Public Reserve Funds. 596. School Bus Drivers' Salaries Moved by Councillor Hajash that the regular basic rate, the extra mileage rate, contract van rate, field trip and service rate be increased by 6%. Carried. 597. Painting of New Panel Van Moved by Councillor Brockelsby that we obtain the cost of painting this van locally and report to the Reeve for a decision. Carried. 598. School Bus Speedometers After a discussion on the changing of the school bus speedometers to kilometers, Council decided to leave the speedometers as they are at the present time. 599. Bus Driver Complaints The Assistant County Administrator was instructed to write a letter to Don Martin of Rosemary"informing him that the Highway Patrol Branch had investigated the driving of said driver and-that no adverse comments were made of this bus driver. 600. Welder Council requested the welder owned by Dave Wipf be brought to the County and appraised by the mechanics and then this report is to be-given to the Public Works Forman, Mr, Trifanenko. 601. Excused from. Meeting Councillor Bartlett requested that he be excused from the meeting. Permission granted. 602. Bow City Road The Assistant County Administrator was instructed to write a letter to the Department of Highways, Attention: Mr. Danchuk, requesting special consideration for paving of the Bow City Road without affecting priority on other roads. 603. September Meetings Moved by Councillor Janzen that the Municipal Meeting be held on September 6, the Agriculture Meeting on September 7 and the Council Meeting on September 8. Carried.. 1 ,,.~ 604.
