Item 67 - 12 Drafting Contractors Ltd. Letter from 12 Drafting Contractors Ltd. requesting road crossings and locating of regulators and meter stations for the S.R. & B. Gas Co-op was reviewed further. Moved by Councillor Brockelsby that we approve the road crossings subject to County By-law and that we approve the set-back of 162' from the fence line for their regulator and meter stations, and that these will be subject to move at the cost of S.R. & B. Gas Co-op if required at a later date. Carried. ,,.~ Item 83 - Utility & Development Control Officer Moved by Councillor Janzen that we approve the appointment of °' Mr. Eric Tatem as Utility & Development Control Officer of the County effective April 1, 1977. Carried. 91. a~ Business from the Minutes r~ Item 3 - Zoning Control By-law Councillor Boehme reported on the Zoning Control By-law Meeting held in Rosemary, Councillor Vogel on the meeting held in Rolling Hills, and Councillor Haj ash on the meeting held at Cassils. Further discussion then took place on the Zoning By-law to date. 92. Correspondence 93. -~ Alberta Municipal Affairs Letter from Alberta Municipal Affairs advising of our 1977 a Equalized Assessment was read and ordered filed. 94. R Alberta Municipal Affairs '; Letter from Alberta Municipal Affairs concerning census figures for the County was presented to Council and tabled until the next Council Meeting in March. Alberta Municipal Affairs 1 Letter from Alberta Municipal Affairs concerning Metric Conversion fir. was presented to the Council for their information. r 97. $ Alberta Transportation _' Letter from Alberta Transportation concerning the subject of buses stopping at abandoned railway crossings and police vehicles passing stopped buses was read to Council and ordered filed. 98. ~ Alberta Land Use Forum Letter from Alberta Land Use Forum advising that copies of the briefs presented to the Land Use Forum are available and the Administrator was instructed to order nine copies of Volume 1 for the Council and one complete set for each of our schools. 99. .~ Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada Letter from the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada requesting donation for 1977 was presented. Moved by Councillor Janzen that we donate $100.00 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada for "~, 1977. Carried. 100. ~ Eastern Irrigation District Letter from the Eastern Irrigation District and a bid on the NE 32-19-11-4, Tax Recovery land, was presented to Council and ~, ~~~ d, ~ tabled for further study. 3~ 6 ~ ~ '~ 101. ,~ Lunch ~ Adjourned for lunch 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. 102. ~ Town of Brooks Letter from the Town of Brooks advising of their change as to their representation on the Recreation Board was presented to Council and ordered filed. 103. ~ Alberta Environment Letter from Alberta Environment, Water Resources Management Division, i of Lethbridge, advising that they would be meeting with Council at ~' 2:00 p.m, on February 25, 1977 was read and ordered filed. 104. ~~ R.S. Kristianson ` Letter from R. Kristianson, of Rolling Hills, requesting the purchase of a Lot in Rolling Hills which is owned by the County, was presented. ^~^ Moved by Councillor Vogel that we advertise this Lot for sale. Carried. 105. ~ Calgary Power c Letter from Calgary Power Ltd. and Invoice for the installation of three street lights in the Hamlet of Patricia, was presented. Moved by Councillor Hajash that we approve this ?~ line move subject to all regulations. Carried. ~~;~._ Page 12 107. ~ J.H. Murray Letter from J.H. Murray, of Murray`s Aircraft Repair, requesting County consideration for a 50% tax incentive reduction was presented. After considerable discussion on this matter, it was moved by ' Councillor Christensen that we allow a 50% tax incentive reduction on "his taxes for 1977 only. Carried. 108. ~ Assessor`s Report The Assessor reported on the following items: metric converstion, the Assessor`s Convention to be held in April, and his monthly report. Moved by Councillor Fabian that we approve the attendance of W. Zaugg, and G. Johnston to the Assessor's Convention. Carried. Moved by Councillor Janzen that we approve the purchase of metric tapes and binoculars as requested by the Assessor. Carried. `. Moved by Councillor Fabian that we cancel Mobile Home Licence ~~115 r as requested by the Assessor. Carried. Moved by Councillor Boehme that, under Section 63 of the Taxation Act, the Assessor assess the SW 25-18-15-4 as set out in his report. Carried. Moved by Councillor Hajash that we accept the Assessor's Report. Road Allowance Letter from Allan Conners, of Patricia, requesting the closing and ~~ sale of road allowance adjoining the NE 18-21-13-4 was presented. Moved by Councillor Musgrove that we approve this application and proceed with advertising for the closing and sale of this road allowance. Carried Unanimously. 134. .~~ Closing of Street Plan Cassils 8709 C H An application from Jake Dueck, of Cassils, to have the street closed which lies west of Parcel A and Parcel D in Plan Cassils 8709 CH was presented to Council. Moved by Councillor Janzen that we proceed with the necessary advertising for the closing of this street. Carried. . . 135. -~ Salaries A review was made of salaries covering the Executive and Senior Management positions (see attached list for details). 136. ~ Mobile Home Licence Fees Application for installment payments on mobile home licence fees was presented. Moved by Councillor Janzen that we approve time payments on the following mobile home licence fees subject to the following: ;~ that payments be made in quarterly payments in advance, any 1976 '. arrears must be paid in full, and if any of the current payments come in arrears the full account will be due and payable immediately. Payments approved on installment plan were: Fay Dunne, James Pollard,. ;' Brian Hansen, G. Diggins, Peggy Mauch, Jacob Weibe and Steve Turuk. Carried. 137. 138. 139. Mileage Discussion took place on the mileage rate paid to County employees. After discussion on this matter, it was moved by Councillor Hajash that we increase the mileage rate for all County employees to 20~ per mile effective February 1, 1977. Carried. Executive Salaries Moved by Councillor Janzen that we increase the salary of the County Administrator by 6% effective January 1, 1977. Carried. Senior Management Moved by Councillor Musgrove that we increase the salary of the Assistant County Administrator, County Assessor by 6l effective January 1, 1977.
