Minutes Minutes of the June 25, 1976 meeting were read and adopted as amended. 437. Correspondence 438. C.K.B.R. Letter from C.K.B.R. requesting the publishing of County minutes was presented to Council. Moved by Councillor Janzen that we release these minutes to the media. Carried. 439. Eastern Irrigation District Letter from the Eastern Irrigation District giving approval for sanitary land fill in the NW 36-14-13-4, was presented. Moved by Councillor Vogel that we close the other pits as indicated in ~;~ their letter after we have received the permit for the new pit. \., Carried. ~` .~ ~~ \~~~ 440. Village of Duchess Letter from the Village of Duchess requesting assistance for their dump ground at Duchess was presented. Moved by Councillor Bartlett that, in accordance with our policy, we dig a new pit for the Village of Duchess and that they be in charge of all future maintenance. Carried. 441. Calgary Power Ltd. Letter from Calgary Power Ltd. for line extension in NE 29-20-15-4 was presented. Moved by Councillor Janzen that we approve this application subject to all regulations. Carried. 442. Alberta Transportation Letter from Alberta Transportation concerning our proposed By-law to regulate water tanks from loading water on County roads, was presented and further information was to be obtained on this matter. 443. Calgary Power Ltd. Letter from Calgary Power Ltd. for line extension in Sec. 14-21-18-4 was presented. Moved by Councillor Christensen that we approve this application subject to all regulations. Carried. 444. Joe Prins Application fromJoe Prins to locate a house on his property was presented to Council. Moved by Councillor Hajash that we approve the moving and locating of this house on his property subject to the set-back regulations. Carried. Page 52 !„~' 445. Provident Resources Letter from Provident Resources requesting 1200 yards of pit run gravel from the Steveville Pit was presented, Moved by Councillor Fabian that we approve the sale of this pit run gravel and that they pay the cost of the checker. Carried. 446. Town ofBrooks Letter from the Town of Brooks concerning the William Oruski property was presented to Council. The Administrator was to advise the Town that possibly they should review the matter of annexing this area to the Town. 447. ,- County of Grande Prairie Letter from the County of Grande Prairie indicating their con cern in regard to the A.S.T.A, presentation to the Government concernin C g ounty Act, was presented. The Administrator was instructed to write the A.S.T.A. to obtain a copy of this presentation. 448. Alberta Transportation Letter from Alberta Transportation advising of the completion of the asphalt base on Secondary Road 550, 544 and 873, was presented d an ordered filed. 449. Cheques for Payment Moved by Councillor Fabian that we approve cheques 4301 - 4678 as , per attached list, for payment. Medicine Hat Health Unit Moved by Councillor Fabian that we accept this report. Carried. Moved by Councillor Bartlett that a letter be sent to the Minister f o Social Services and Community Health regarding the surplus funds of th e Medicine Hat Health Unit. Carried. Page 53 459. Moved by Councillor Hajash that we approve this application subject to Country Residence Caveat and cash in-lieu-of on the parcel. Carried. 465. Assessor's Report The Assessor's Report for the month of June was presented. Moved by Councillor Boehme that we accept this report. .r .... \. /`~~ Moved by Councillor Janzen that a letter be sent to the Minister of \~ Municipal Affairs indicating our concern on the Government's Assessment ~~ Program and also that a request be sent to him to meet with him the next time he is in Calgary. Carried. ,'' 466. - Motion 370 Moved by Councillor Bartlett that Motion ~~370, of the June 10, 1976 meeting, be rescinded. Carried. 467. - Mrs. T. Price Moved by Councillor Hajash that a life-time lease be granted to Mrs. Price for her property located Nof NW 32-18-15-4. Carried. 468. Road Allowance Lease - Bill Endersb Jr. Request for the closing and leasing of the road allowance in 21-14-4 was presented and tabled for more information. 469. Business Licence - C. Hiebert Request from C. Hiebert for County approval of his business licence to operate a store at Scandia was presented. Moved by Councillor Janzen that we approve this application subject to all regulations. Carried. 470. By-law 585-76 Moved by Councillor Vogel that By-law 585-76 concerning the borrowing of money under the B.Q.R.P. Program receive first reading. Carried Unanimously. Moved by Councillor Fabian that By-law 585-76 receive second reading. Carried Unanimously. Moved by Councillor Boehme that By-law 586-76 recairve second reading. Carried. By-law 586-76 was to be advertised for the Public before third and final reading was received. . . Brooks Library Board Members of the Brooks Library Board met with County Council to discuss grants. After discussion on this matter it was agreed that further information would be obtained from the Government and this matter discussed further. Ad ourn Meeting adjourned at 4: Page 55
