Jame s 46. .; Minutes Minutes of the January 10, 1975 meeting were read and adopted. .. 47, w Business from Minutes 48. ,, Department of Highways Letter from the Department of Highways re: By-law 555 concerning Transfer of Title of the street to Lot 3 was read. Moved by Councillor Brockelsby that we transfer Title of this street by method »~rr as outlined in the Department of Highways letter. Carried. .. ~, ,~ °`~ ~_~~~ '~, 49. Department of Agriculture -~,, ~*, Letter from the Department of Agriculture concerning irrigation ~'~' systems and power poles, was read. Moved by Councillor Bartlett t~~~~ that we advise the Department that it is this Councils opinion that farmers should have no responsibility for line moves or relocations due to irrigation systems. Carried. 50. P.s ©s. .__..___ Report was given on the P.S.S. Meeting held on February 5, 1975• After discussion on this matter, it was moved by Councillor Janzen that we contact all Municipal Councils in the County and hold a special meeting to discuss P.S.S. within the County. Mum icipal Assistance Grants Letter from the Department of Municipal Affairs setting out the percentage increase for 1975 Municipal Assistance Grant, was read and ordered filed. 53. -- Department of Environment r rrrr~ Letter from the Department of Environment re: leasing of trailer, cabin and homesites in SE 5-18-15-q., was read and ordered filed. 54• ,- Department of Manpower & Labor Letter from the Department of Manpower & Labor re: Utilities Officer, was read. Moved by Councillor Christensen that we investigate the possibility of hiring a Utility Officer. Carried. .. Moved by Councillor Bartlett that we acknowledge receipt of this letter and note the Department's concern in this matter. Carried. 5b. ,~ Village of Duchess Letter from the Village of Duchess requesting the County to fence the refuse pit at Duchess, was read. As the County had dug this pit, it was recommended that the Village be responsible for the fencing of this refuse pit. 57. ~~ Town of Brooks A 'thank your letter from the Mayor & Council of the Town of Brooks for the picture that the County Council presented to Town Council, was read and ordered filed. 58. ,.- Town of Brooks Letter from the Town of Brooks setting out the 1974 ambulance statement, was read and ordered filed. 59• ~, C_algary Power Ltd. Application from Calgary Power Ltd. for line extension in NE 1-19-15-4, was read. Moved by Councillor Janzen that we approve this application subject to all other regulations being met. Carried. 62. ~: Calgary Power Ltd. Application from Calgary Power Ltd, for line extension in Secs. 30 & 31 -14-13-4, was read. Calgary Power was to be advised that we will consider this application when the necessary road agreements are made due to planned road widening of this road. Moved by Councillor Christensen that this application be tabled until this matter is cleared. Carried. 63. ~ Lunch ______. Adjourn for lunch 12:40 - 2:00 p.m. 64. ,-- D le~ati ns Mr. R. Noonan met with Council to discuss Smith Trucking proposed trucking and service shop and his application to the Department of Highways for a Development Permit. Moved by Councillor Brockelsby that Motion #41 be lifted from the table. Carried. Moved by Councillor Musgrove that we zone the Smith Property as industrial area pending completion of County Zoning By-law. Carried. Moved by Councillor Fabian that By-law 5b0 being the Zoning of the East quarter of L.S .D . 3 SW g-1g-14-q., Smith Trucking, to industrial area, receive first reading. Carried Unanimously. Moved by Councillor Boehme that By-law 560 receive second reading. Carried Unanimously. Moved by Councillor Brockelsby that By-law 560 receive consent of Council for third and final reading. Carried Unanimously. Moved by Councillor Janzen that By-law 560 receive third and final reading. Carried Unanimously. 6b. ,, Jubilee Insurance Agencies Letter from Jubilee Insurance Agencies Ltd, re: Councillor-Trustee Accident Policy, was presented. Moved by Councillor Fabian that we renew this Policy. Alberta Government Telephones Application from Alberta Government Telephones for buried cable system in 15-15-4, was read, Moved by Councillor Brockelsby that we approve this application subject to all other regulations being met. Carried, 71. ~~ Shop Compressor Moved by Councillor Janzen that we approve the moving and rewiring of the Shop compressor at a cost of X270.00. Moved by Councillor Bartlett that we donate X300.00 to the Salvation Army for 1975• Carried. 74• ~ Muscular Dystrophy Association Letter from the Muscular Dystrophy Association requesting donation for 1975, was read. Moved by Councillor Janzen that we donate X100.00 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, for 1975. Carried. 75. -~~ Brooks & District Chamber of Commerce Letter from the Brooks & District Chamber of Commerce requesting 1975 dues was read. Moved by Councillor Fabian that we pay membership to the Chamber for 1875 in the amount of X35.00. Moved by Councillor Christensen that we approve this application subject to a Country Residence, cash in-lieu-of on the two parcels, and that access from these parcels be to the north only. Carried. Application 75 M 112 Revised - application from the Town of Brooks, revised plan, on the airport subdivision for hangar sites, was presented. Moved by Councillor Musgrove that we approve this application and that cash in-lieu-of be paid on the area concerned, Carried. 97• ~ Mobile Home Licence The Assessor reported that the Mobile Home Licence in the amount~of X86.24 for Mrs. D. Swanson of Duchess, was paid to the County during 1974, and as she was living in the annexed portion of the Village of Duchess, that this amount should be refunded to the Village of Duchess. Moved by Councillor Brockelsby that we refund this amount to the Village of Duchess. Carried. g8. ~~ Clarke Property .Hamlet of Scandia Moved by Councillor Brockelsby that the Assessor assess the Clarke property at Scandia, being Lots 16, 17 & 18, and that this assessment be placed on the 1975 assessment and tax roll. Carried. 99. r Road Agreements Moved by Councillor Christensen that we approve the two road agreements for George & Karen Baxter of Bassano. Carried. 100. ~. Meidinger for Educational Tours and Field Trips from the Bassano School at the rate of X3.00 per hour for driver plus the mileage rate for the bus being used. Carried. 102. County Bus Driver - Dennis Peyton ~. Moved by Councillor Musgrove that we consider Dennis Peyton~s service with the County as continuous and that we pay him long service bonus of X10.00 per month effective January 1, 1975• Carried. . . 103. .~ County Buses - Robert Ponting Moved by Councillor Vogel that we approve the extra payment for R. Ponting during the time he was driving the Carman Closs bus at Rolling Hills.
