Council Meeting
April 18, 1974
The reconvened Council Meeting of the County of Newell No. q. was
held in the County Office at Brooks, Alberta on Thursday, April 18,
1974 at 10:00 a.m.

220. _, Brooks Hospital & Nursing Home Representative - Ward 5
Moved by Councillor Hajash that Councillor Block be appointed as
the Brooks Hospital & Newell Nursing Home Representative for
Ward 5. Carried.
221. Moved by Councillor Bartlett that we accept the School Bus Tender
from Superior Transportation Ltd. for 5 new buses, being 2 - 42
-.~ passenger buses at X10460.00 each, 1 - 48 passenger at X10580.00

- 54 passengers at $11570.00 each. Carried.
222. New County Shop
A review was made of the Tenders on the new County Shop Addition.
Moved by Councillor Janzen that we award the Contract to A.E. Adams
Construction Co. Ltd. for the total package price including a
building cement foundation, plumbing, heating and wiring for the
sum of $93296.00. Carried.

~~ A review was made of the proposed County Zoning By-law from 11:00 a.m.
to 12:30 p.m.
224. Lunch
Adjourn for lunch 12:30 - 2:00 p.m.
225. Zoning By-law
Further study was made of the proposed Zoning By-law from 2:00 p.m.
to 7:30 p.m. After completing the first study of this By-law, it
was tabled to await the proposal from the Planning Commission on
the Zoning Map, at which time a further study will be made of the
By-law and Zones.
226. Rainer School Addition
Moved by Councillor Andrews that we transfer the sum of $28274.20
from the Capital Reserve Account to the Rainier School Account.
Carried.
227. County Shop
Moved by Councillor Hajash that we draw up an agreement between
the County of Newell and Adams Construction for the building of

the order. Carried.
