Musgrove Councillors G. Larsen. V. Fabian C. Andrews J. Hajash C . Block - N. Tautfest- P. Bartlett' H. Janzen~• Mun. Sec. D. James 1. Minutes of the March 10, 19'72 Meeting were read and adopted. 2. Moved by Councillor Bartlett that a letter of thanks be sent to the Minister of Highways re: Brooks Inspection Services Office remaining open in Brooks. Carried. 3. Correspondence: ¢. Letter from Alberta Government Telephones re: Buried Cable System in Rolling Hills was read and referred to Councillor Larsen for further study. ` ~ .,. ^`,~ 5. Letter from Calgary Power Ltd. re: proposed line extension to Hort. Station Irrigation Pump, was read. Moved by Councillor ,.' Hajash that we approve this application subject to all other regulations being met. Carried. 7. Letter from Calgary Power Ltd. re: proposed line extension to Alberta Alfalfa Products Ltd., was read. Moved by Councillor Hajash that we approve this application subject to all other regulations being met. Carried. 8. Application 'J2-M-24 from the Medicine Hat Planning Commission was read. Moved by Councillor Hajash that we approve this application subject to all other regulations being met. Carried. 9. Letter from Mr. V.H.Lawrence re: General Assessment, was read and ordered filed. 10. Letter from the Village of Duchess re: Recreation Agreement, was read and the Secretary advised to obtain the necessary signatures. 11. Letter from the Brooks School District re: tendering of a 1965 54 passenger bus, was read. After reviewing our bus situation, it was decided that this bus would not be tendered at this time. Page 1 12. Letter from the Town of Brooks re: purchase of the W2 33-18-14-4 was read. Moved by Councillor Hajash that we approve the purchase of this property by the Town of Brooks. Carried. 13. Letter from the Canadian National Institute for the Blind requesting donation for 1972, was read. Moved by Councillor Tautfest that we donate X100.00 to the Canadian. National Institute for the Blind. Carried. ~.: 5 :)' 14. Moved by Councillor Tautfest that By-law -re: Donation to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind receive first, second, third and final reading. Carried Unanimously. 15. Moved by Councillor Janzen that we accept the Treasurers Report for the month of March. Carried. 16. Committee Reports: 17. School Committee: Moved by Councillor Bartlett that we proceed with the borrowing for the repairs to the Gem gym floor. Carried. 18. Moved by Councillor Bartlett that we recommend to Council, the sale of Teacherage T3 at Tilley to K. Pranskunas. Motion Lost. ~ a`ti 19. Municipal Committee: ~-' 22. Public Works Supervisors report was received. 23. Moved by Councillor Fabian that we purchase a camper top for a half-ton truck for approximate cost of $300.00. Carried. 24. Moved by Councillor Janzen that we pay D. Avery, motor grader operator, an additional $10.00 for plug-in service. carried. 25. Moved by Councillor Tautfest that we tender for a new 300 imp. welder. Carried. 26. Moved by Councillor Tautfest that we accept this report. Carried. 27. Adjourn for lunch 12;30 - 2;00 p.m. 28. Mrs. Woodman met with the Council to discuss the transportation of her children to Rolling Hills School. Moved by Councillor Tautfest that we offer Mrs. Woodman 12¢ per mile or $67.$0 Board Allowance per month for each child, effective January 1, 1972. Carried. Page 2 29. Mr. J. Doerksen of Gem met with the Council to discuss the taxing of a house at Gem. After hearing his presentation, Council made no change in the tax position of this house. 30. Mr. B. Turai met with Council to discuss the taxing of his Cabin on the Redelback property at the north headgates of Lake Newell. After listening to his presentation, Council made no recommendation in this regard. 31. Mr. George Philpott presented his report on the Municipal Police and Crop Protection. 32. Agriculture: Moved by Councillor Larsen that we approve the A.S.B. Budget for 19'72. Carried. 33. Moved by Councillor Larsen that we accept this report. Carried. 34• Brooks Hospital: No report. 35. Moved by Councillor Tautfest that the motion re: payment of mileage or Board Allowance to the Woodmans be rescinded.
