Mr. Don P~Iurray of Big Twin 1`lotors met with the r~oard to discuss full payment far his sr_hool buses as per his tender. Correspondence: Letter from the P.F.A.A. re 1970 crop claims was presented to the Council and copies of this report distributed for them to complete and return to the office. A pplication 70M46 from the Medicine Hat Planning Commi:-si.on re Aimoto Farms Ltd. was read. T~oved by Councillor Hall that this '~ application not be approved. Carried. A pplication 70M50 from the Medicine Hat Planning Commission re John Niznik was read. Moved by Councillor Hajash that we approve this application subject to all other regulations being met. Carried. Adjourn for lunch 12.:30 to 2:00 p.m. Letter from the office of the Minister of Transport, Don Jamison, was read and ordered filed. Letter from Canadian Transport Commission was read re calculation of loss on passenger train operation was ordered filed. Letter from the Honorable J.'v~1. Pickersgill, President of the Canadian Transport Commission was read and the Secretary instru^_ted to write and ask the following questions: (1) Does the C.P.R. receive any royalty from the mineral rirhts and lands that were given to the C.P.R. free for ;wilding the railroad: (2) Are any assets transferred from the C.P.r. to their subsidiary company? Moved by Counci].lcr Hall that Mr. Bunney's request for his rent money, which is to go to taxes, be applied to taxes and not be paid to him. Carried. The ad hoc committee as appointed by the Chairman of the School Committee shall consist of Charlie Andrews, Tom Musgrove, R. Hiebert, and Paul Bartlett. Moved by Councillor Fartlett that if an employee has more than one job with the Co~inty, and if hours of work exceed the renu.lar hours of work per week as specified under article 14 of the t7nion Agreement, one job must b<-~ given up. Moved by Councillox `'~usgrove that we purchase a 12 Tx7ssenger bus from Duchess Garac~P at Duchess at a cost of $4087.00. Carried. Moved by Councillor Musgrove that the County tender for gravel. crushing, tenders to close on the 15th of September, 1970 at 12:00 p.m. 45,000 - 50,000 cubic yards to be crushed at various County pits. Carried. .. Agriculture Committee Moved by Councillor Larsen. that this report be accepted. Carried. . . Secretary was irstructed to send a letter to Mr. Lobay of the Dept. of Agriculture re the District agriculturist and his assistant and ask why cannot they do some of these jobs: grasshopper count, pesticide applicator, license inspection and grass seed applications, instead of these jobs being given to the :agriculture Heldman.
