Minutes of the December 12, 1969 meeting were read and adopted. . . Moved by Councillor Larsen that the extra mileage allowance for th? month of December be mid to Mr. G.4J. Philpott in the amount of $SO.OO.f` Carried. . . The minutes of the C.U.P.E. Meeting of December 17 were read and adopted, Moved by Councillor Musgrove that we approve the Financial Report for the month of December. Carried. . . Letter from the Provincial Planning Board re Board order on lot R block 2 plan 4112EA was read. The Secretary was to advise ~. Hierholzer of this order. Letters from the Medicine Hat Regional Planning Commission and the Provincial Planning Board re County membership in the Medicine Hat Commission were read. Moved by Councillor Fabian that we invite members of the Medicine Hat Planning Commission to our next County Council Meeting to discuss this matter further. Carried. . . Applications from the Medicine Hat Regional Planning Commission were presented. 70M3 E.I.D. to Newell Cattle Grazing Association. Moved by Councillor Andrews that we approve this application subject to all other regulations being met. Carried. . . Application 70M5 E.I.D. to Kleenbirn Golleries. Letter from Jubilee Insurance Agencies Ltd. re changeover of Insurance Companies was read and ordered filed. . . . Letter from the A.A.M.D. re 1970 Convention was read and ordered filed. Report No. 2 from P.F.A.A. was read and ordered filed. . . Letter from Calgary Power Ltd. re application for line extension in 33-18-16-a was read. Moved by Councillor Hajash that we approve '' this application subject to all other regulations being met. Carried. . . Letter from Alberta Wheat Pool re coyote hunting during 1969-70 was % read and ordered filed. . . Adjourn for lunch 12:15 to 2:00 p.m. . . The 1969 Financial Report of the Brooks Airport Committee was presented and ordered filed. . . Letter from Fenerty McGilvrey re Klimuk of Tilley and J. Karasek was read and referred to Councillor Fabian for further action. . . Committee Reports School Committee Moved by Councillor Bartlett that we approve a donation to the Rolling Hills Skating Rink in the amount of $100.00. Y'' . . Moved by Councillor Hajash that this motion be amended further to read "and also that equal amounts be made to all schools in the County " educating County children." Motion lost. . . Vote on the original motion -carried. ,i Moved by Councillor Andrews that we arrange a meeting with the personnel from the De~rtment of Education who will be in Brooks on January 19 to discuss the school acts and also that they Brooks School District be invited to this meeting, which will be held in the County Office at 2:00 p.m, on that date. Carried. . . ,~; Moved by Councillor Bartlett that we accept the School Committee Report. Carried. Municipal Committee Moved by Councillor Musgrove that we advertise the closing and leasing of the road allowance as set out in the application from Mr. N.P. Roen of Duchess. Carried. . . Moved by Councillor Musgrove that we approve the purchase of 250 grader blades. Carried. . . Moved by Councillor Musgrove that we approve the purchase of 11'8" snowplow for the versatile tractor or one of the County trucks. Carried. Moved by Councillor Musgrove that an offer of $750.00 be made to Mr. C. Morris of Patricia which would require him to complete the job of constructing the ditch and structures and also that he would release the County of all future or past claims on this property. Carried. Moved by Councillor Musgrove that we accept the Municipal Co,~runittee Report. Carried. . . . # ,; i;_:... Mr. J. Horsman and Cliff ~Tright, representing the Medicine Hat Jr. Chamber of Commerce and applicatifln for 1973 Canada Games, met with County Council to discuss this matter further. Moved by Councillor I~~usgrove that we approve and give our support in principle to the Canada Games Committee as set out to us by these two members. A request for a recorded vote was made by Councillor Tautfest. Result of vote: for - Councillors Hajash, Larsen, Fabian,Musgrove, .Andrews, Hall, Bartlett and Douglass. Against - Councillor Tautfest. . . . Agriculture Report Moved by Councillor Larsen that we approve the purchase of 6-5 H.P. motors for the ride-on lawn mowers at a cost of X82.50 each. Carried. . . Letter of resignation from Mr. T. Porter was to take effect on January 30, 1970 was read. Moved by Councillor Larsen that we accept this resignation, but with regret. Carried. . . Moved by Councillor Larsen that we approve the storing of 150 cases of Dimetholate at the County yard for the Department of Agriculture. Carried. Moved by Councillor Larsen that the February Service Board :'leeting be held on February 12. Carried. . . Moved by Councillor Larsen that we accept this report. Carried. . . Brooks Hospital Moved by Councillor Bartlett that the following telegram which is ~~ attached to and forms part of these minutes be forwarded to the °, Minister of Health. Carried unanimously. . . Lawrence for a further year and also that he be appointed as the County Assessor for 1970. Carried. . . NE 30- 19-13-4, NE 30-19_13-4, Sw 3-19-14-4, NW 29-20-14_4, Pt. NW 4-18_14-4 and the C}oliad Ltd propertywhich was to be assessed during our annual assessments, but were missed, be assessed and added to our 1970 assessments. Carried. . . Moved by Councillor i~usgrove that in the case of any emergency, and if the Reeve or Deputy Reeve cannot be contacted, that the Secretary or any Councillor will have the authority for the authorization of use of County equipment. Moved by Councillor Larsen that we approve the purchase of a new adding machine for the office for the approximate amount of $250.00. Carried. . . Moved by Councillor Musgrove that by-law 393 re closing and sale of road in section 23_18_14-4 receive first and second reading. Carried unanimously. Moved by Councillor Musgrove that W. Moved by Councillor Larsen that the Hamlet of Rolling Hills and all of Division 1 excepting Township 16 Range 11, 12, 13, 14 be advertised / for the establishment of the Recreation Board to be known as Rolling Hills Recreation Area. The meeting opened with Councillor Hajash setting out County position 1. Offer old contract with deletion of items (c) and (d) of article 3 of Public Works Agreement and items (c) and (d) of article 3 of the Janitor Contract. 2. Not prepared to negotiate on Union Proposal. 3. Prepared to review salaries. . . Both Parties recessed for discussion. . . Union Opinion - cannot accept old agreement i~f County not prepared to negotiate new agreement. Should start concilliation procedures. . . Both parties agreed.
