James The minutes of the September 12, 1969 Council Meeting were read and adopted. . . Moved by Councillor Andrews that a letter of appeal be sent to the Provincial Government regarding the recreational grant allowed to cabins used for recreation purposes. Carried. . . Moved by Councillor Musgrove that the Financial Statement for the month of September be approved. Carried, • r • • Correspondence Letter from the City of Lethbridge re closing of pheasant and partridge season was read. Moved by Councillor Andrews that we do not support their request in this matter. Carried. . . Letter from Medicine Hat Chamber of Commerce re 1973 Canada Games was read and a committee of Councillors Musgrove and Andrews was set up to investigate into this matter further. . . Letter from Local Authorities Board re annexation to the Town of Brooks of Section 29-18-14-4 was read and ordered filed. . . . Letter from Jubilee Insurance Agencies Ltd. re school bus insurance was read and ordered filed. . . Letter from Suna lta Appraisals Ltd. re appraisal of all County Property was tabled until after the Municipal Convention. . . Letter from Brooks F.U.A. #1324 re use of County Office for meetings was presented and it was agreed that they may use the office space during the day only when required. . . Moved by Councillor Andrews that we approve the use of office space on a temporary basis for the Probation Officer. Carried, . . Adjourn for lunch 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. . . Peter Makowichuk of Underwood 8 McLellan met with the Council to discuss the survey program throughout the County. . . Letter from Crerar, Lutes & Noonan re transfer of title to W.C. Bunny re ~ 32 and SW 32-19-13-4 was read. Moved by Councillor Hajash that we approve this transfer subject to the tax notifications remaining on the new transfer of title. Carried. Letter from Eastern Irrigation District re offer to purchase the W~ of 14_15-11-4 and SE of 17-18-11-4 was read. Moved by Councillor Larsen that we accept their offer for this land. Carried. . . Moved by Councillor Ta utfest that tax sale by-law 386 re sale of the W~ of 14_15_11-4 and 5E 17-18-1I-4 receive first, second and third readings. Letter from Department of Education re Survey and study on transportation and bus cost was read and ordered filed for report. . . Letter from the Inspection Branch Department of Municipal Affairs re 1969 Inspection was read and was to be acknowledged by the Reeve. . . Letter from Peter Lougheed M.L.A. re visit to the County of Newell was read. He was to be advised that the Council could meet his group on either November 12 or 14. . .
