James Minutes of the April 18th, Council Meeting were read and adopted. Moved by Councillor Chrumka that the $500.00 to be paid on the Bassano Score Clock be taken from the Bassano Capital Building Account. Carried. Moved by Councillor Bartlett, that we write the Minister of Lands & Forests requesting the closing of the Deer and Antelope Season within the County of Newell. Carried. Moved by Councillor Tautfest that we investigate the rising cost of the Health Unit Requisition for 1969 and also review the dental services as supplied by the Health Unit. Carried. . ~ Secretary Moved by Councillor Larsen that we accept the~Treasurers Financial Report for April. Carried. Correspondence Account from the Rolling Hills F.U.A. in the amount of $250 was read. Moved by Councillor Bartlett that we pay this account. Carried. Letter from Jubilee Insurance Agencies:Ltd. .re Liability Coverage and increase in premiums was read. Moved by Councillor Tautfest that we increase our bus fleet liability insurance to one million dollars. Carried. Letter from the Fire Commissioner re: appointment of local assista~-t~ was read. Moved by Councillor Hall that the Secretary be appointed the local assistant for the County of Newell. The Secretary was advised to write them and advise thaw we would be willing to accept 1 mile of chloride on an experimental basis. Regional Planning Commission application 69_M_8 E. Anderson was read and ordered filed. Application 69-M-28 re: Lester $eek was read,Pftoved by Councillor Musgrove that we approve this application subject to all other regulations being met. Carried. Application 69-M-29 re: W. Schnieder was read, moved by Councillor Ha jash t2iat we accept this application subject to/$~l~er regulation. being met. Carried. Application 69-1.33 re: Pioneer Holdings was read. Moved by Councillor Hajash that we approve this application subject to all other regulations being met. . Letter from Goliad Ltd. xe: Bantry Gas gathering system and road crossing was read. Secretary a~~uy~ to advise them that the crossings must be at an eight foot depth. . . Letter from Goliad Ltd. re: building of 500 feet of road aloes Sections 32-.33-17-12 was read. Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that we approve this application subject to a 22' top road being built. Carried. Adjourned for lunch 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Committee Reports .~~ School Moved by Councillor Chrumka that we accept the resignation of J. Trekofski, with regret effective June 30, 1969. Carried. Moved by Councillor Chrumka that we accept the School Committee report. Carried. Municipal Moved by Councillor Musgrove that we approve the purchase of the disc in the amount of $1350.00. Industrial Board No report . . Airport Committee No report Moved by Councillor Musgrove that we approve cheques 532 to 669 as per list attached for payment. Carried. . . Account from the Department of National Revenue re: tax on motors in the amount of $771.76 was read and the Secretary advised to draw up the necessary appeal against this tax. . . Moved by Councillor Hajash that we return the $15.00 pound claim and the $10.00 deposit to R.S. Kristianson of Rolling Hills re: pound claims. Moved by Councillor Hajash that the County pay cost of survey and registration for the extra land required for the County yard from the Town of Brooks. Carried. Letter from Farm Electric Services Ltd. re: Gem R.EA. was read. Moved by Councillor Douglass, that we accept this application subject to the line being 75' from the centre of the roadvray. Carried. Moved by Councillor A3ldrews that we approve the road agreements for K.A. Calvert, Albert Irwin and Frank Stoye. Carried. Moved by Councillor Hall, that we accept the Post Tender from Peerless Wood Preserves if R.A. Carbol Trailways Ltd. do not advise us by 4:00 p.m. this date. Carried. ~~ Moved by Councillor Douglass that we include Division 9 ~ Form A in our roadwork program in the amount of $25,000.00. Carried. . . Moved by Councillor Hajash that we apply to the Department of Education to have all unorganized lands included in school lands within the County. Carried Unanimously. Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that this meeting adjourn to reconvene for the Budget Meeting. Carried.
