Hajash~=' Councillor G. Larsen -' T . Musgrove:- K. Anderson •. D. Hall N, Tautfest' P. $artlett• G. Douglass- Sec.-Treas. D. James Minutes of January 10th, 1969 were read and adopted. Moved by Councillor Hajash, that the original motion re annexation of Section 29-18-14-4 be amended to also include the South and West road allowance of this section. Carried. Moved by Councillor Hall, that we accept the statement of Receipts and Payments for January. Carried. Minutes of CUPS Meeting were presented. Moved by Councillor Larsen, that we adopt these minutes. Carried. Letter from A.A.M.D. re Spring Annual Meeting was read, and Councillor Hall, Musgrove, Tautfest, Hajash and Secretary- Treasurer indicated they would attend. Letter from Jubilee Insurance re C.P.R. line closings was read, and the Secretary advised to obtain further information as to what services will remain or provided. Letter from Gill, Conrad, and Cronin re appointment was read. Moved by Councillor Musgrove, that we appoint this firm to act on our behalf and that the necessary Resolution be drawn up. Carried Unanimously. Letter from County of Minburn re Town and Village representation was read. Moved by Councillor Tautfest, that we support their proposal in this matter. Carried. Application 69M8 from Regional Planning (E. Anderson) was presented. Moved by Councillor Hajash, that we approve this application. Carried. Application 69M9 from Regional Planning (M.E. Houseman) was presented. Moved by Councillor Hajash, that we refuse this application. Carried. Letter from Municipal Financing Corporation re 1969 debenture requests was read, and the Secretary advised to report re Scandia School. Moved by Councillor Musgrove, that we write the Minister of Highways re Debenture for roads, and use the Contengent Grant if debentures were used. Carried Unanimously. Letter from Department of Lands & Forests re leasing of road allowances was read, and ordered filed for present time. Letter from Minister of Health re new Hospital for Brooks was read. Moved by Councillor Hajash, that we write the Minister and advise that we have heard these excuses since 1960, and that we request immediate action to this demand. Carried. Letter from Alberta Services, re Boundary changes to Brooks Hospital District was read and ordered filed. Adjourned for lunch 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. Moved by Councillor Musgrove, that cheques 1653 to 1920 be approved for payment. Carried. Moved by Councillor Musgrove, that Bylaw 364 receive second- third and final readings and passed. Carried Unanimously. Moved by Councillor Hall, that Bylaw 365 receive second- third and final readings and passed. Carried Unanimously. Moved by Councillor Douglass, that Bylaw 366 receive first_ second-third and final readings and passed. Carried Unanimously. Moved by Councillor Musgrove, that Bylaw 367 receive first- second-third and finals readings and passed. Carried Unanimously. Moved by Councillor Tautfest, that By-law 368 receive first- second-third and final readings and passed. Carried Unanimously. Letter from Farmers Union of Alberta re donation was read. Moved by Councillor Hall, that we refuse this request. Motion Lost. Moved by Councillor Anderson, that we donate $50.00 to the F.U.A. Carried. Moved by Councillor Anderson, that By-law 369 receive first read ng. Carried Request from Salvation Army re donation was read moved by Councillor Douglass, that Bylaw 370 receive first reading. Carried. Letter from Alberta Heart Foundation, re donation was read. Moved by Councillor Tautfest, that By-law 371 receive first- second-third and final readings and passed. Carried Unanimously. Moved by Councillor Bartlett, that we write the Postmaster General re increase in rental rates of Post-Office boxes, compared to free delivery in the cities. Carried. Moved by Councillor Tautfest, that the Court of Revision meeting be held on February 20th, 1969. Carried. Moved by Councillor Bartlett, that we appoint Mr. V.H. Lawrence as Assessor for 1969. Carried. Moved by Councillor Bartlett, that we approve the attendance of our Assessor to the Assessors Convention in April. Carried. Tenders were received on Cash Registers. Moved by Councillor Tautfest, that we refuse these tenders. Carried Unanimously. Moved by Councillor Hajash, that no School Bus leave a registered road for the purpose of picking up school children. Carried Unanimously. Moved by Councillor Musgrove, that we write another letter to the E.I.D. requesting a joint meeting. Carried. Committee Reports School Moved by Councillor Bartlett, that the motion re Sports Time Clock for Bassano School be withdrawn until further information is obtained as to circumstances of order and finances. Gill & Company to act on our behalf re Bus Accident - October 11th, 1968. Upon motion by Councillor Musgrove and unanimously 'carried, it was resolved that Messrs. Gill & Company, solicitors in Calgary, be and they are hereby instructed to defend or take such steps as are necessary in the proposed action of Therisa Pelletier, Robert Pelletier, Napoleon-Pelletion and Joseph Pelletier and Tom Sa,ka against the County of Newell No. 4 pursuant to~the terms of our contract written through United Grain Growers Insurance Agencies Limited.
