HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-10-07 Council (Regular) MinutesCounty of Newell No. 4 County Council October 7,1966 The regular monthly meeting of the County Council was held in the County Office in Brooks, Alberta at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 7th, 1966. Members present, Reeve Councillors J. Hajash' A . Chrumka -' T. Musgrove" F. Mandeville- R. Armstrong' D. Grosfield' G. Douglass '~ H . Scanune 11 Secretary-Treasurer The minutes of the previous meet ing.of.September Meeting of September 27th were read and adopted. 16th and the special Moved by Councillor Armstrong that.the.Secretary's monthly statement of Receipts, Payments, and monthly progress to September 30th be accepted. Carried. Notice was received from the Village.of•Rosemary of the election of Mrs. Wittig as the representative on the School Committee. Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that.the.appointment of Mrs. Wittig or, the School Committee to represent the Village of Rosemary be approved. Carried. Moved by Councillor Musgrove, that the account for the Brooks Ambulance for the years 1963 to 1966 in the sum of $1,157.00 be paid. Carried. Copy of a letter from the Dept, of Highways to Underwood McLellan re Road Study Group plans was read, discussed, and ordered filed. Copy of a letter from the Dept. of Highways to Canadian ~nlestern Natural Gas Co. re pipeline crossing of Hwy #1 for Tillebrook Park service was read and ordered filed. Moved by Councillor Grosfield, that the proposed plans of Can.-West. Nat. Gas. Co. for gas service to some certain residences in the Duchess Area as per plans, be approved subject to County Regulations for Road Crossings at 8 feet depth, Carried. Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that the proposed extensions to Rolling Hills R. E. A. be approved. Carried. Moved by Councillor Grosfield, that the County relinquish and. Transfer the responsibility of Child Welfare to the Dept. of Public Welfare, in accordance with the recommended draft letter. Carried. Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that.ar~.advertised reti~ard of $100.00 be offered for information leading to the apprehension of the person or persons responsible for the attempted vandalism on the County Motor Grader at the Rol ling Hills Road. Carried. Adjourned for lunch 12:4~ to 2:00 p.m. Moved by Councillor Douglass, that :School Busses nos, 14 & 4 be advertised fen sale by Public Tender. Carried. Reports of Committees Municipal Committee Moved by Councillor Armstrong, that the report of the Municipal Committee be accepted. It was unanimously agreed that the Bristowe Farm should not be taken under Supervision. ...........
