The regular monthly meeting of the County Council was held in the County Office in Brooks, Alta. at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 8th 1966. Members present, Reeve J. Hajash- Councillors G. Larsen- A. The minutes of the previous meeting of June 10th, and Special Meeting of June 27th were read and adopted. .......... Mr. Terry Turnbull of Ferguson supply attended the meeting tovadvise that the Unit for rental should be here by the 18th July. Moved by Councillor M-~ndeville, that the Secretary's monthly report of Receipts and Payments for the month of June be accepted. Carried. A letter from the Dept. of Highways,.re.the proposed Highway Signs was read, discussed, and referred to the Agricultural Committee. A letter from the Dept. of Agriculture re the proposed Testing Laboratory was read, discussed, or referred to the Agricultural Committee. .......... A letter from the Minister of Highways advising of his acceptance to Offici- ally open the New Administration Bldg., August 5th was read and ordered `'`` filed. A letter from Gill, Conrad and Cronin advising of the discontinuance of ~~ the Jamrichko action was read and ordered filed. A letter from the Farm Purchase Board re the E, L. Robinson application `, was read and discussed and the Secretary directed to reply. .......... The offer of Walter Deginstein to purchase 2 coal Sheds at Rolling Hills, for ten Dollars was refused. The correspondence with the Town of;Brooks re the proposed road changes was read and discussed and ordered filed. The Secretary was directed to investigate further in the matter of the Town of Brooks acquiring 33 feet on the West side of Bock 33, Adjourned for lunch 12:30 to 2:00 pm Correspondence of Underwood & McLellan and the Dept. of Highways, re Hardsurfacing was read and ordered filed. Correspondence and Bulletins from.the~Alberta Centennial Committee, re Site Markers on Projects were read and ordered filed. Moved by Councillor Musgrove, that the location of the Fertilizer Shed at Millicent be approved, providing it conforms to Board of Transport Commissioners regulations. Carried. Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that~the`application of Calgary Power Ltd. to Service Texaco Oil We11 Pump at Bantry be approved. Carried. Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that~the'a pplication of Calgary Power Ltd. to Service Bow River Pipe line Pump at Bantry be approved. .......... Carried. Moved by Councillor Musgrove, that the application of W.A. McKean and Assoc, for road crossings with pipeline be approved, subject to County regulations is to depth, ~..~..~~~~ Carried. Reeve Hajash reported on his meeting with Jim Wilfley, the owner of the newly discovered gravel deposit. P SPECIAL UPPLIE3 LTD. --2-- Moved by Councillor Armstrong, that every effort be made to influence the Dept. of Highways to acquire the Wilfley Gravel Pit, Carried. Correspondence from the C.P.R., and the Board of Transport Commissioners, re the Rolling Hills Road RJR Crossing was read, discussed and the C.P.R. are to be advised that the crown of the road at the crossing will be finished at 32 feet. The P,F.A.A, report of meeting .No..l2,.revising the catigory of Twp.l6 Range 13 was presented, and noted by Councillor Chrumka. Moved by Councillor Hajash, that the application of Jim Wilfley to establish a feed lot on the No. l Highway approx. 3 miles West of Brooks, be approved subject to Provincial Gov't Regulations. Carried. Moved by Councillor Hajash, that.the.application of D. Berreth to establish a Feed lot etc. on the Pt. N2 8-19-14-4 be approved, subject to Provincial Government regulations and the Town of Brooks. Carried. Moved by Councillor Hajash, that*the.application of Canadian Western Natural Gas Co. to instruct a gas line on the West Side of the road allowance north of Brooks to bypass the T~Zicro-Wave tower Site and Dr. Reynar, be approved, subject to the approval of the Town of Brooks, Carried. Moved by Councillor Hajash, that•the.application of H. Varga to sub- divide NW 22 & SW27 -18-14-4 be approved subject to Prov. Govt Regulations. Carried. Moved by Councillor Hajash, that~the.application of G. Reade to sub- divide W2 5-19-15-4 be approved subject to Provincial Government Regulations. Carried. Moved by Councillor Hajash that the proposed changes to the Orlita Service Station by Royalite Block H in the NE5-19-14-4 be approved subject to Provincial Government Regulations, and approval of the Town of Brooks. Carried. Moved by Councillor Musgrove, that the proposal of the Dept. of Highways for Bridge File 74291 in the Sw26-20-14-4 as per the plan and profile submitted be concurred in. Carried. Moved by Councillor Musgrove, that the Preliminary Agreement with Cody Morris for the SW 13-20-134 be accepted. Carried. Moved by Councillor Hajash that Bylaw 309, to purchase One Adams 660B Motor Grader from Coneco Ltd. be given 1st, 2nd and 3rd readings and V, finally passed. Carried Unan. Moved by Councillor Chrumka, that~Bylaw.310 to purchase One Allis Chalmers TL645 Loader from Watrous Ltd. be given 1st, end and 3rd readings and finally passed. Carried Unan.
