County Council Au~ust~ _1..1th, 1961 The regular monthly meeting of the Council of the County of Newell No. 4 was held in the County Office in Brooks, Alberta at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 11th, 196.1. The minutes of the previous meeting of July 7th, 1961 were ,,~ read and adopted. i ', P~Zoved by Councillor Plumer, that the `Secretary's reports of Receipts, Expenditures, and Monthly Progress, for the month of July be accepted. Carried. . . Moved by Councillor P~~cAleese that the County take out a membership in the Canadian Good Roads Association. . . Carried. Notice was given to Councillors, of the requirements for making applications under the P.F.A.A. A letter from the Canadian Western Natural Gas Co., re an increase in the rates at Gem was read and ordered filed. A letter from the Calgary Power Co. re conversion of rates was read. Moved by Councillor Armstrong, that the new rates by the Calgary Power Co. be accepted. Carried. . . Advice was received from the LDepartment of Education, School Building Assistance Branch, of the approval of the Bassano School Addition at 4.5 units. Adjourned for lunch 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. . .
