County Council March 10th, 1961, The regular monthly meeting of the Council of the County of Newell No. ~ was held in the County Office in Brooks, Alberta at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 10th, 1961. . . ~ Members ,present: Councillors 0. The minu~~es of thy-previous meeting of February 18, 1961 were read and adopted. Carried. . . Mrwed by Councillor McA]~ise, that the ,plans of the changes to One Tree R.E.A.. and Bo~'Slope R.E.A. be accepted. Carried. . . A letter from Hu Harris & Associates, re Assessment Services, was read and ordered filed. . . A letter from the District Engineer, re 1961 work 9n the Rolling Hills road was read and referred to the Municipal Committee. . . A Letter from the Alberta Association of M.D.~s, re a special meeting March 28th in Edmonton, was read. . . . It was recommended that the Chairman and Secretary, and the Chairman of the School Com~1t:~_ttee attend, . . , Moved by Councillor Eastman, that the County sup.por~t the Village of Rosemary in their request for an access road south to the Trans-Canada Hiway. Carried. . . The Secretary was directed to endeavour to obtain permission from the Department of Lands and Forests to test for gravel itl Ntd 1 and SW 12- 15-16 W ~th, south of the Bolo River. . . An increas;~ in salary to Mitsua Iwaasa, Accountant, from $300.00 to $32.00 .per month was approved. . . It was agreed that the Statutory Meeting be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April xth and that the regular monthly meetings be held in the following week, School Cammittee 10th, Municipal Committee 11th, and County Cauncil lx.th April, 1961. . . The Secretary was directed to convey to Councillor Vossler the thanes and appreciation of the County Council. for his services. . . Scammell The minutes of the previous meeting of February 10, 1961 were read and adopted. The Prairie Farm Assistance Insp.~Report No. 8 was read and ordered fjrl.ed . . A letter from the Dept, of Agriculture re: their appreciation of the County sponsored Agricultural Service Board. Conference in Calgary was read and ordered filed. Moved by Jas Hajash, that the subdivision of SW'27-NW22-18-11~.-l~ (Girdauckus) be approved. Carried. . . Councillor Plumes reported with regard to the operation of the ambulance, and recommended that the County and the Town of Brooks guarantee any loss in the operation of the ambulance, on the basis of 2/3 County 1/3 Town of Brooks, with the Town accepting the responsibility of administra- tion. The Council concurred in this arrangement. . . The Council discussed in detail items in the Auditors Financial Stat- ment. . . The Secretary reported in detail all of the points with regard to the circumstances of the A.B. Tooke family. . .
