County Council November 10th. 1960. ------------------------ The regular monthly meeting of the Council of the County of Newell Na. ~. was held in the County Office in Brooks, Alberta at 10:00 a.m. on Thurs.» day November 10th. 1960. . . Members present: Chairman N. A. Shuttleworth Councillors 0. Vossler P. McAleese C. Andrews Jas. Hajash Secretary-Treasurer H, Scammell . . It was found necessary to adjourn the opening of the meeting until 2:00 p.m. due to the lack of a quorum. • • • • # w The minutes of the previous meeting of October 7th. 1960 were read and adopted. . . Moved by Councillor Vossler, that the plan of survey of the pipeline crossing by the California Standard Company, norrth of Tilley be approved. Carried. . . Moved by Councillor Hajash, that the application of Honey-.King Industries Ltd. to conduct a Retail and Wholesale business on the NE 8~•19~-7.~. W~.th. be approved. Carried. . . Zn the matter of a further application with the Dept. of Lands & Forests the Secretary was directed to request a reply to our better of September 20th. 1960. . . Moved by Councillor Vossler, that the County make no objection to the proposed annexation by the Village of Tilley to a parcel of land ad.. joining to the north. Carried. . . Correspondence with regard to a pipeline crossing in the Tilley District was read. • • • • 9 • Moved by Councillor Hajash that the proposed subdivision of the part NE 3b-•18-~15«.W~.th, be approved. . . Reports of Committees Municipal Cammittee Moved by Councillor Hajash, that the report of the Municipal Committee be accepted. Carried. . . School Committee Moved by Councillor V©ssler, that the report of the School Committee be accepted. Carried. Hospital Committee. No report. Civil Defence Committee No report Farm Purchase Board No report Tenders for the sale of County Buildings were opened and decisions as to disposal made is as follows. Moved by Councillor Andrews, that the Civil Defence building be sold to Fred Prima for the sum of $155.00 Carried. Moved by Councillor McAleese, that the two Millicent Teacherages be sold as follows. S~a11 1315 to Bern Berg $250.00 Zarge ]1GX2b to E. Ohman $300.00 Carried. Moved by Councillor Andrews, that the old Rainier Garage building be sold to Walter Brauer for the sum of $200.00 _ Carried. Moved by Councillor Vossler, that the ~ room teacherage at Rosemary be sold to M.D. Sorenson for the sum of $153.00. Carried. Moved by Councillor McAleese, that the 2 room teacherage at Rosemary be sold to H.C. Monroe for the sum of $125.00 Carried. Moved by Councillor Hajash, that the Stolarchuk house at Roserr~y be sold to N. Morishita for the sum of $110.00. Carried. Messrs. N. Rust & Don Berg, Millicent, attended the meeting to discuss the purchase of the Millicent School by the Millicent Community Club. It was agreed that the school building be sold to the Millicent Community Club for the sum of $500.00 the terms of sale being L~00.00 cash and X100.00 to be paid within 6 months. Moved by Councillor Shuttleworth, that the County Council approve the proposed plans of the Rolling Hills Community Club to use their Rec- reational Grant on the following project: Rebuilding of the Skating rink. Improvement to playgrounds. RM149-P-Special Additional recreational facilities. Carried.
