The regular monthly meeting of the Council of the County of Newell # 4
was held in the County Off ice in Brooks Alberta at 10:00 a.m. on

The minutes of the meeting of October 11th, 1957 were read & adopted.

Nbved by Councillor Armstrong that the SecretaryCS Statements of
Receipts and Disbursements and Monthly Progress for the month
of October be accepted.

The decision of the Alberta Assessment Appeal Board in the matter ~.
of Bryce Stringam was read and ordered filed.

The Secretary reported that the 12 shares of the Alberta P~Zunicipal
Financing Corporation had been received.

.Advice was received of the Ministerial Order appointing the Farm
Purchase Board as follows:
Rolland Eastman County Representative
Albert Johnson Agriculture Representative
Del Pound Treasury Representative.

purchase the old Gem school building for the sum of l~00.00 be accepted.

Messrs. Meech & Robbins of the Architect firm in Lethbridge met
the Council to discuss the possibility of having sketch plans v'
prepared of a ~ more reasonably priced hospital for Bassano.
. .
They were directes to furnish sketch plans of this type foer 1
presentation by the Hospital Committee to the Bassano Board
as an alternative.
. .

Moved by Councillor Lokier that Mr. Tautfest, Rosemary, be appointed.
a Deputy Pest Control Officer for the County.

in the matter of obtaining title to a gravel site on the J, T, ~'
Hawn land at Countess.

Mewed by Councillor Plumer that the County estimate for capital
borrowings for 1955 be set at ~ 200,000.00 to include Rosemary, '"
Tilley and Duchess school expansion.
