The regular monthly meeting of the County Council of the County of Newell No. 4 was held in the County Office in Brooks, Alberta at 20:00 a.m. on Friday, January 11th, 1957• . . The minutes of the meeting of Dec. 7, 1956 were read & adopted. . . Moved by Councillor Lokier that the Secretary~s report of receipts ,.- and disbursements for the month of December be accepted. Carried. ,~ copy of a letter from the Mothers Allowance Branch re the 'discon#~inuance of the allowance to Ids. Rebitt, was read and ordered ~ filed. `Title was received to the parcel of land in Bassano being Block Z, the site of the new Bassano school. . . . ,~ ,~; ~~ eo L5v" ~ 2 ____~~~ std,/" Correspondence from Don Merrill & .Associates and V.H. Lawrence, i applying for the position of assessor for the County was read. . . . e progress report on the Bassano school from Meech, Mitchell & '~ bins was read and ordered filed. . . :Advice was received from P,F*A..,A. with regard to claims for assistance. ~ . . . Moved by Councillor Mc.Al.eese, that the offer of J. J. Rodenbour to purchase Pt. S.W. g - 14 - 13 - 4 for ~ 100.00 be refused. /~ Carried. . . The secretary reported that the contracts to build the portable schools at Bassano, Rosemary, Duchess and Rolling Hills had been approved. K • • i • Moved by Councillor Plumer, that the secretary be directed to advise the Patricia Home do School .Association, that the school busses in the Patricia district are being operated in accordance with County policy , and are in the complete control of the Councillor of the division.
