Moved by Councillor Mc~l.eese that the Secretary~s statement of Revenue and Expenditurq~or the month of March be accepted. Carried. . . Moved by Councillor Waraksa that permission be given to the Medicine Hat Health Unit to make the alterations in the School Division building in accordance with their letter of ~ipril 12th, 1956.' Carried. . . . Moved by Councillor Douglass, that Bylaw No, 135 being a bylaw to donate ~ 100.00 to the Canadian Institute for the Blind be given lst, 2nd and 3rd readings and finally passed, Carried LTnan. t • r • . Moved by Councillor Shuttleworth, that the Secretary advise the various architects of the proposed building of an eight room school at Rolling Hills and suggest that they submit sketch plans with estimation of cost of the proposed buildings without obligation to the County. Carried. . . Agricultural Service Board. Moved by Councillor Lokier that R. E. Caldwell be engaged for Agricultural Service Board work from April 16th, 1956. Carried. . • Nbved by Councillor Lokier, that the fencing agreements as recommended be approved, subject to a review of the Rate Enforcement and Tax Recovery position of the lands Vf Carried. • • . Mr, Art Larson, Civil Defence Director, met the Council to request that he be relieved of his duties in that capacity he was prevailed upon to continue until a suitable replacement could be found, . . Moved by Councillor Plumer that the County cooperate with the Village of Duchess in establishing a joint use nuisance ground by donating ;~ the use of County machinery. ~ Carried, . . Meeting adjourned at 5:30 p.m. .. .. C ARY TREAS ~ ----~ County of Newell No. 4 Resolution. A resolution to provide for the prohibiting of traffic on County roads if and when required due to road and weather conditions. WHEREAS under Section 8a of the Public Service Vehicles r,ct, authority is given for the Council to prohibit tY:e use of the County roads by such vehicles and with such loads as the Council may so indicate. AND WHEREAS the weather conditions and road conditions often make it impossible to hold a Council meeting for this purpose. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Secretary-Treasurer be empowered at all times, after consultation with as many of the Councillors as are able to be contacted by phone or otherwise, to impose and lift road bans to conform to the existing road..... _. conditions at that time.
